Had more work travel in 2014, and it's likely to continue in 2015 (with a possibility of moving to Plat).

1K to MM Gold

Main reason: PQD (and new RDM scheme), and to some degree shift in travel pattern. Would actually have only qualified for Silver, but did reach Bronze on BA with one PE trip to southern Africa that might have gone to UA/LH in better days (and with confirmable upgrade space).

Future: MM Gold, and just status-matched to AS MVP Gold 75k (see travel pattern).

1K MM to Gold MM

Only flew 4 segments last year. I don't expect to personally fly any this year, but family members will on my remaining miles.

Gold to Plat
I had 87K miles and only 7180 PDQ due to an AC transpac biz ticket. Was offered a buy up to Plat for $600 in the email. I called and pointed out that the buy up was more than I was short and that I did not get any credit for an $800 "EXTRASEAT" ticket I purchased. The agent checked with the powers that be and I was granted Plat.

Silver to 1k due to increased work travel. Expecting Gold or Plat this year

Would not have much MP Status without Lifetime 1K !
 

I achieved lifetime 1K status in 2012. Therefore same in 2013> 2015.

Since I'm exempt from the new PQD, etc. qualification requirements, I cut back on UA flying in 2014 to try AA and DL more.

I am greatly disappointed in UA for food, customer service,reliability, and because of the reduction in MP benefits the last few years. IMO other carriers have been better in these regards.

I would not have earned 1K the last 2 years with the current requirements if I was required to earn 1K. I would likely have been a Silver this year, but I have not done the calculations.

I now fly UA only when I have to, but my upgrade rate has been excellent on UA. AA also gives a great upgrade rate.

2004-2014: CO OnePass Silver/UA Premier Silver (usually only short of Gold by ~5-8k)
2015: Dirt

Changed companies in 2013, but that really didn't start affecting my business travel until last year. Combination of reduced travel and different travel spending priorities (old company had a contract with UA, new company wants us to book least expensive regardless of carrier).

1K to Platinum. Just got my Platinum credentials today. Had 4 GPUs expire last Saturday.

2009-1/31/15: 1K

2015 Status: GM

Burned about 400K RDMs before 2/1/14 and took three amazing trips (Auckland, Mainz, & Singapore) in F/J. Got a chance to sample the 748 in F and J, NZ 772 J, and other great products.

I've been EXP since the oneworld MegaDO in 2012 and will continue to be EXP (vs. splitting between AA/UA). There are some things I don't like at AA right now, but overall its a much better experience than flying with Jeff. At AA, I've been 100% with UDU and SWUs (since 2012), whereas I was lucky to hit 50% at UA.. Not clearing a SWU on an M fare to London was one big reason I started to look at dumping Jeff.

Will keep my 50K UA miles active with the MileagePlusX app. Besides one UA flight in March, I have no other plans to fly UA in 2015. Might return if UA starts to look like DL with efficiency and customer service, vs. F9 & NK.

2013 -> 2014 -> 2015 : Plat -> Plat -> Gold
My wife and I are UK based and travel for leisure.
Chose to take fewer trips but travel BF. I'd actually prefer status to be all spend based because we easily spent $10k plus last year. But that's just me being selfish :)
Unless UA have a BF sale this year we'll be looking at other carriers.

Plat -> Silver

New job with less travel. No buy-up offer possibly because I have PPlus. Still deciding if I want to burn PQMs to get a soft landing to Gold. Haven't seen the word Silver on my MileagePlus (OnePass) page since 2005!

Plat-->Zilch. Had 44k miles, thought my $25k in CC spending would get me silver but apparently they didn't count my $395 annual fee towards the 25k :rolleyes:

I'm going with the cheapest fare gets my money in 2015. Actually flying Frontier in a month! Will be cheaper to buy cheap first class tickets when I want as opposed to just be loyal to UA. They aren't making things better for us, so my loyalty is gone.

Remained 1K this year but will probably decline next year.

From 1K to Gold after nine consecutive years in 1k (sigh)
