Received confirmation today of renewed GS for 2014
$48k UA revenue (excluding taxes etc) 156k PQM 45 PQS |
Demoted
Just got my demotion email to 1K after many years as GS
222k, >$60k spend, 12 paid BF intercontinental flights on UA metal, 3.8 million miler....soft landing?! I am lifetime 1K so irrelevant :td::td: Jeff Next year I have 5 business class trips before March...time to try for AA Concierge Key, since I now have no incentive to fly UA... |
Received mine a few hours ago. Just shy of 400,000 PQM's. Don't know the spend.
|
Got an email signed by Jeff Smisek confirming I retained my GS status.

Just got my renewal email. I seem to be lowest spend here - $42K (minus taxes etc), 130K EQM (actual flight miles; not including bonus EQM for high fares). Sixth year as GS. I think they take previous years into account, and that renewal has lower level requirement than initial invitation. Also location. I'm out of a small Midwest city.

got mine today
138 pqm, includes about 60k spend |
Got it
8th year in a row. 254KPQM, 112.5 PQS, $50,000 spend. Made it this year but had same stats last year and only got 1K email. So I sent them a 'threat' email in January recapping my stats and indicated I was getting offers from AA and DL to come over and they'd match status. Two weeks later GS kit came in the mail, so I took it as proof they do several sweeps of flyers to come up with their final quota of GS for the year. So for those who think they are on the cusp but get denied, take a shot at getting them to rethink that downgrade to 1K decision...

I got mine today too. 3rd year of GS. 115k PQM. guessing spend was in the $40-50k area at best.

OTOH, with 3.8 million.. you are within striking distance to become life time GS. |

Oh well...got the opposite email today after numerous consecutive years as GS with my "recognition" by UA as a 1K in 2014. I can enjoy GS till 1/14. Since I am a 3.8 million miler, I already get this "benefit" by using my CO credit card and not flying one mile on UA, so means nothing to me. I think these demotion emails are new but can't be sure since this is my first
2013 Stats: 222k PQM (almost all on UA metal), >$60k spend, Paid UA business 4xAsia, 6xEurope, 2x SA; CLE based, 3.8 million lifetime miles |
When Will 2014 United Global Services Invitations be Sent?
Re qualified. 335k EQM mostly non-discounted YBM fares. Had a good year with UA and looking forward to 2014 with their emphasis recently on GS.

If you already haven't I would strongly recommend you send GS an email asking for re-consideration. I'd also point out the fact that your a 3.8MM and will be lifetime GS in less than 200K BIS miles. Especially considering your 2013 #'s I'm shocked you were not requalified, I would be 2x as shocked if they don't give it to you upon 2nd look. Just my two cents.

Made it as well ...
After lots of wondering over the last few weeks, I got the email indicating I made it to GS for the first time. The following are my stats / spend for the year:
$51k spend (excluding taxes et cet) on UA only 164k PQM (~15% *A) 42 PQS (4-6 *A) EWR based. Mostly discount int'l business fares to Asia, Middle East, Europe). Very little domestic travel, all of which was booked in coach. Hope this helps those benchmarking where they stand ... |
Oh, my god! I am GS next year!
I just receive an email from united. I am GS from next year! I never expect that since I only fly just over 100k miles this year and 80% was UA metals and most of the flight are W fares. I did bought a round the world star alliance business class ticket last year and it was ticketed by LUF. And only three segments were from united metal this year which are hkg-sin, sin-nrt, nrt-icn. And the flight by UA metal were included a low fare flight in US domestic. I did change my address to ASIA from the beginning of this year since there is no spending requirement from next year and I spend over seven months in SIN and near three months in SFO and PVG this year.
And I also bought some UA tickets from united.com for my family since we did travel a lot. But from my memory, most of these tickets are award tickets. I did bought a lot of miles from united accelerator. I can't find my total spending from united. It should be around USD15k. I also bought two round trip B fares TPAC for next year. From my impression, it is very hard to be a GS so I never expect that. It is a big surprise for me. Hope it is helpful for you. I did learn a lot from you! Merry Christmas and Happy new Year! |
:)
Congratulations! This will surely be a nice Christmas gift for you to put under the tree! ;)
