Also, according to post #825, the person whose itinerary got cancelled had already checked in and printed out their boarding pass.

So he'll get to HKG, but not back...

Oh I agree. And it is off topic. We both agree that this has the potential to be a substantial financial impact. Whether it is recognized as a one time loss through an increase in the Deferred Revenue liability account or recognized over time through lower revenue, is a small distinction since none of it really exists.

I don't know if it would be material. My thought is it will not be material for a quarterly statement. I doubt we will see any mention of this in pending financial statements.

No matter what I am boarding, so by the time I land there will be at least another 200 posts. So thank you for my refresher course of Intermediate 2 and FAR.

Were we not told on this site by United Insider that we will all get calls to discuss our situation and we would be offered options before they cancel.

Wow, less than 24 hours before the flight. I think that's messed up. United should have at least contacted the passenger and notify them of the cancellation beforehand...

If the cancellation is accurate, I hope that UA tried to contact the person and offer to let him reprice at the proper amount:

If not, United Insider lied ONCE AGAIN.
