SQ is definitely not routine. Normally whats available on aeroplan is indeed available. LH is it's own issue.

Today I was able to book a business saver one way SYD to SIN one way for March, 2013 (two class 777-200).

Should I be worried that this is phantom?

No, SQ block only 380, 77W, and 345 with new F and C.

2 class 772E are the ones with old spacebed in C (aka PS F seat), and gradually converting the C seats to 330 style C seats (still non-flat)

2 cabins 772ER (SV seires)with old spcacebed C will refitted to 380/77W style long-haul business class seat.

Medium-haul C seats are fitted on 772ER (SQ & SR series). SQ don't block award on this one.

At some point last year -- and not as part of the July weekend glitch -- I remember seeing sporadic (and not phantom) C availability on the A380, on the SIN-SYD route. Does SQ still ever release C seats to partners on those types of medium-haul routes, even when they're operated by the A380 or 77W? (I ask because I'd like to snag a C seat on an A380-operated NRT-SIN flight, but wonder if that's hopeless..)

And just as a follow-up, right now I see 77W availability in F on very short-haul routes (i.e., CGK-SIN)

I remember seeing PEK-SIN red-eye before the july fiasco .... maybe it's phantom

I'm glad SQ is finally realizing the novelty of their new product has worn off, competitors have equally good products, and their F are going out a wee bit too empty for their comfort

It is NOT blocked, just rarely available. I've seems a380 F, and just yesterday saw 777 C SIN-DXB.

I believe that SQ use refitted 773 rather than 77W on SIN-DXB. Refitted 773s have medium-haul (330/772) business class and 380/77W style first class. SQ don't block C award on refitted 773.

SQ also releases F awards on flights on the 772 with the old F seats... SIN-MNL is one... Something I wouldn't mind grouping in as part of a larger itinerary just to get a taste of TPR and a sample of the SQ F soft product.

Hopefully, in a few years they will start releasing C/F awards on long haul routes with the new product like CX did.

United still gets away with Starnet blocking?

I was just browsing for a couple of award tickets to NYC from SIN and found there were seats on A380 on SQ (SQ26) (7/01) and OZ flights, all in business class.

There seems to be availability via LifeMiles (Avianca) but not thru MP.

United MP seems to have returned to its old habits, again.
