I love the 757... mainly for the power they have. The CO RR engines are actually much more powerful than the P&Ws. My neighbor is a 757 pilot and he called it the sports car of aircraft and fun to fly.
I have only been on the 753 once, and it did feel very long to the way back! |
I enjoy the PMUA 752. Only comment is that so many of them are getting old and tired and feels like they go MX alot. I will miss them once gone but getting the feeling it's time for some newer birds, especially if they arrive with fresh interiors, wifi and TV.

I'm spoiled on the 757. When booking flights I now change my schedule just for the shot of a 757 over the airbus a320.
My normal schedule of DEN to SJC though we will have anything from a 757 running our flights in the summer to winter when we get stuck with the CRJ :(. |

The 757 has the highest thrust to weight ratio of any mainline (non-regional jet) commercial aircraft. Love the way they just leap off the runway and practically go straight up on takeoff.

I like 757 because of UDUs.
If I remember correct, I never failed any UDUs for 757s. All airbus is hit or miss. 767s (IPTE only) is definitely a no. |
Ya g:cool:tta love the Corvette of the current crop of airliners -- the 757-200 :p

I've always felt they didn't have enough Economy Plus. As a Premier this year before we got Exit Row access there were only five rows to choose from and on hub-hub flights I'd often have a choice of E+ Middle or E- Aisle/Window, a choice I hated having. Though I do like the larger F Cabin compared to the Airbus aircraft.

757 is my favorite UA plane, but I do almost 90% of my flying on 757 and CRJs.
I will take the 752 over a 320 any day of the week, what is not to like about 24 pretty spacious and comfortable F seats that I seem to almost always get even at 1P. Bins are better than Airbus planes, and when I don't get my UDU, row 21 has endless legroom. Whats not to like? If they can refurb some of the old ones, I would take a 20 year old 752 over even a brand new CO 737-900. |
Flew a CO 752 across the pond last week (LIS-EWR) First time in the front (BF).
That is one sweet ride! I'll take that over a wide body any time. |
Clearly, the 757-300 is a godawful plane. 35+ rows of coach. I don't think anything other than a 747 or A380 offers that long a walk back
A340-600....now that is a long walk down a skinny (it feels that way) tube! |
The 757 is on my top list of aircraft, but not overall favorite. Airbus is slightly above. Sorry to those that aren't going if it ain't Boeing.. :D
A couple experiences come to mind: 1) I was on a 6am MCI-ORD on a Sunday in June of 2009. Three of us in F, and 40 in Y. That bird really flew off the runway! 2) Flying ORD-MCO in November of 2009, we had to abort our landing.. Man did it feel like I was on a rocket! :D Love the 757s and will be sad when they go away for good. |
I have never been on a UA 757. Don't know why. But my upcoming flights to DEN, DCA, SFO all are 757s. Looks like UA is helping me catch up. How is the boarding process on a 757. 1 door or 2 doors?

The boarding process can be a cluster **** at times but all in all a great aircraft... A lot of years behind it and has the potential for many more years ahead of it. Especially if united takes care of the aircraft they have. I love seeing the 757s at DCA, and watching them eat up every last ounce of runway. :p |
