Do today's scores on the doors include Scotland's AWOL data from yesterday?
And for info, a couple of colleagues have self isolating (secondary school) teenagers at the moment. All are symptomatic, so so much for the young not getting ill with this thing. Latest Scotland data below from gov.uk https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...e66ace9f70.jpg |
Six days after receiving my booster jab, it still hasn't appeared in my medical history in the NHS app, and then today I received another invitation to attend a walk-in booster event in Lambeth tomorrow. I'm not confident that anyone is administering this very well.
If I get another invitation in a couple of weeks I might just go along and get jabbed again, as I'd then be fully-vaccinated with AZ and with Pfizer. :D |

So the new rules, if I am reading them right, as someone double vaxxed I no longer need to get a PCR test 3 days before leaving the US and will only need an LFT on day 2. This is for Dec travel.
I will still need a test 3 days before flying to US though. This will save me a few quid if true |

I've not seen how the Boosters work on the App ('m supposed to be getting a booster due to being frontline) but I know that in general terms it is best to go back to the vaccination centre to get them to input the record. It is easy to enter the details into Pinnacle then not to save it properly, though at this point I would hope data entry would be fairly accurate now. By all means ring 119 and ask for the Resolution centre to see what they can see. You can also ask your GP to check NIMS via Pinnacle to see what NIMS has against your record - they just need to start the data entry for CoVID-19, enter your NHS number and date of birth, confirm then the NIMS panel is visible.
Unfortunately, my GP practice in Lambeth is one of many organisations still using Covid as an excuse not to answer phones or reply to messages, and I have been unable to talk to a human on 119 no matter what menu options I choose: they all end up with my being directed to a website or being sent an SMS with a link to a website. It's not of immediate concern - I've had my booster regardless of what my medical record says - but I don't want there to be any problems in future due to an incomplete record. I'm about to transfer to a GP in Wales and will ask them to resolve the issue. |

Thanks, as always, for the informative reply.

I am noticing that a lot of the news coverage regarding the booster shots being made available to groups 1-9, and not to younger adults who don't have underlying conditions, seems to mention that the government have decided they don't need to make the decision on giving a third dose to everyone else since those people will have only received the second dose in late summer/early autumn.
I am a little concerned that I don't fall into that category. Since I was vaccinated in the US my second dose was back in April (and of course only a month after my first dose, which I think we all now know is not ideal from an effectiveness perspective either). Similarly, all my husband has had is a single J&J back in March. Does anyone have any thoughts on how concerned we should be about this? I'm trying to decide whether we should try to source boosters for ourselves this autumn or whether it is okay to wait until the UK gov decides what to do with our age group as a whole. I can see pro's and con's for both from an administrative perspective, but ultimately health is what is most important here! I appreciate flyertalk is not a source for official medical advice, but since there seems to be no government guidance on this I'm not sure who I could ask in a formal capacity (e.g. I'm assuming my GP / 119 / the vaccinators at a walk in center would have to tell me to wait to be called). So I was hoping corporate-wage-slave, or other medically informed members of the community, might be able to share their thoughts? |

I Suggest the first thing to achieve will be to get your non-UK vaccines put into the relevant national vaccine database. There will allegedly a way to do this by the end of the month. Read the thread about vaccine passports also in the UK forum, last couple of weeks there is discussion of this issue in there. Once you have correct data in there whatever the criteria are to invite you for a booster shot should come into play. If after a few weeks of having correct data in the UK database you have not had an auto-invite then I suggest you approach your GP for advice.
My understanding (I work in a vaccine centre) is that the plan at the moment is to call people in order of category, the same as the original vaccine appointment system did. This will leave some people vaccinated in England out in the cold, those who received their first because of their work, who no longer qualify and all those who managed to get “spares” early on. This does contradict with the order that second doses were given as that was strictly on the basis of date of first jab. The full details haven’t been made available yet, so there may be some changes, |
