I already have my "just in case" form all filled out except for the flight info and date. I just get irked when airline personnel can't accept a simple "I don't need one, I'm using the paperless kiosk". No question about "Oh, what's that, I haven't heard about it??" All they can do IS say the rote "everybody needs one". I wasn't nasty or confrontational about it, and indeed quietly took the form and left it on the seat when I deplaned. One of the bennies of Global Entry is that you don't need to get up to grab your carryon, find a pen, get out your passport, put all the information on the form, etc. I refuse to do so just to make some random FA happy.
I bet if you told them you already HAVE one versus you don't NEED one - there woukd be no issue and no confrontation. It almost sounds like you want them to inquire further or think 'special'. The FAs have no need to know the ins and outs, or why's regarding c&i, other than a form is needed - give 'em a break

That's my standard answer - "I have one already." Issue solved.

Got approved today.

Is a lease okay for proof of residence? I just moved and don't have any rental payment stubs yet...

Today at IAD: Arrived from LHR on UA923. I was one of the first off the plane, and there was a decent line even on the citizen side. The non-citizen side line was huge.

I went up to the GE kiosk, and (I timed it), was finished in 40 seconds. I even beat the deadheading pilot who exited the plane before me, rushed down the stairs, and was first at the crew line.

I noticed there are now four GE kiosks -- I think when I went through a few months ago there were two.

Yes. Or a utility bill or land line bill. (not a cell phone bill)

I brought a property tax bill, and it was acceptable.

I brought both my lease and a recent rent bill--they didn't look at either.

I didn't know you didn't need to fill out the stupid customs declaration card, you still have to do that for NEXUS, I wish you didn't have to.. its a pain.
If everything works correctly, the paper you get from the kiosk "should" be sufficient. When I did my interview, the agent noted that "just in case" fill out a customs form anyway (it takes less than one minute).

Thanks all.

A little hiccup today - my DL had my old address on it and they didn't know the SOP for that, so the CBP officer was looking for it. Luckily, accepting my lease was fine with them.

Got approved and am now GE.

NB Was told they have only done 175 interviews since August 28th (when the programme started) at BOS.

Which, the kiosks, or the offices for interviews?

The kiosks are towards the east side of the passport control area. For the interview, you get detailed directions from the scheduling system, but basically you go to A west to where everyone's exiting baggage/customs, go briefly the "wrong way" down the exit only path to get to a set of doors, and hit an intercom buzzer to tell them you're there for a GE interview. That'll get you into the baggage area and you'll be directed from there.

I and my wife applied three weeks ago. My wife got a reply back to schedule interview in about 5 days. Over three weeks have gone by and I still have not received an answer. We leave for Thailand on the 10th of Nov. How long did it take to get an answer back on GOES??? Appreciate any info any one can give me.

I had mine in about 24 hours. I applied, received conditional approval and had the interview with a three day period.

Global Entry

Thanks for this OP. Alot of helpful info as I just applied through the website and it took about 10 minutes online to complete. I have not looked for the kiosks at SFO but they should be there as of end of Aug 09 per the comments right from the web site. My last entry to SFO was 7/17. Especially coming through IAD this process very helpful as those lines can take anywhere from 30-60 minutes and when I came in from DXB on Oct 17 I only saw 2-3 person use the 2-3 kiosks. At 6:30 AM there are minimum 5-6 flights arriving so now making the closest UA connections will be easier. I will report back how long it takes for my application to be approved.

The kiosks in SFO are along the far left wall. There are signs all along the way pointing you in the right direction. I used them after arriving from SYD last week and it was a breeze. I asked the CBP officer if a lot of people used the kiosks and he laughed and said no...and then you're one of the few smart ones!

I also enjoyed the signage recently at IAD where they spell out the cost as "Just $20 a year!" Made me laugh - actually showed a bit of good marketing on someone's part though the 5 year minimum, so to speak, wasn't terribly clear.
