Hi, how did you request the card? I'm looking at my GOES account and do not see any link to request a GE card. I've been a member since the program began.

Also not showing a link in GOES to request a card... I've been a GE member since 09

You cannot use NEXUS by virtue of being a Global Entry member. In order to use Nexus, you must apply and be interviewed by the Canadian Border agency, in addition to the US interview.

The press release on the Global Entry site indicates that you CAN use GE when entering the US from Canada (use the NEXUS lanes). It indicates that you CAN NOT use NEXUS lanes when entering Canada.

That is correct. It says on the Global Entry site (and on my membership information in GOES) that GE can only be used at land crossings into the US from Canada. It can't be used at airports that have NEXUS (and no GE).

Me too.

When you login to your GOES account, there's a button on the top of the page that says "Request Global Entry Card." The button goes away after you apply for the card.

Odd. Not showing on my end.

Curious, for anyone who has filled out the request for the Card on an existing account. When it asked about places you visited the past five years, does it show you your prior responses or do you start with a blank list?

Could you please let us know what link you followed in GOES to request the GE card? I have been looking around in my GOES account and do not see anything that allows me to request a card. I do think it is interesting that now, under Program Memberships, it just says "Trusted Traveler Program," indicating that my multiple memberships (NEXUS and GE) have been merged or are merging into one TTP.

Right after logging-in there is a button "enroll in a new program" under :: Program Membership(s) :: I would upload the image if I knew how to. There you find all the other options.

Here's a related question: are you both NEXUS and GE? I am...so maybe they won't allow combined NEXUS/GE members to request a GE card for the time being? Technically, I suppose the NEXUS card is a more "powerful" card than the GE card, because NEXUS card does everything a GE card does and ALSO shows proof of ability to enter Canada via airport kiosks (iris scanning kiosks), though you need to have your passport to do so.

Only GE.

I used my GE again yesterday at IAH (where they have moved many of the machines again, and built a seperate area up front for GE with no checked bags-very nice, though they do check passports to amtch name on receipt to picture everytime now it is still very very fast). They also now have signs indicating in-transit int'l to int'l pax can use the seperate CBP lanes which is nice, though they still must hit TSA again.

Anyway, upon my exit I stopped a CBP officer and asked in passing about the new GE card, and he asked some coworkers and none of them knew about it yet, so word has not filtered down to the local level (and IAH is the busiest GE port of entry per press releases). I'll order the card soon.

Anyone know what this card looks like? There is no picture I presume unless they pull it out of a database from the passport??????

Like some of you, I also had trouble locating the link to request the GE card. In my case, I had to log into GOES, and then click on the "Trusted Traveler Program" link located directly underneath the "Enroll in a New Program" button.

Then, at the top of that screen, there is a group of 5 buttons, the middle of which says "Request a Global Entry Card." Not exactly easy to find (I've been looking for it for the past week!), maybe they don't want everyone signing up for it at once. :D

From a blank list.

Thanks! I followed your instructions, and I see the group of 5 blue buttons, but in my case the button says "Replace Card." I don't see anything saying "Request a Global Entry Card."

Maybe NEXUS/SENTRI members who bridge over to GE do not get to request a separate GE card?

Yes. I suspect that your NEXUS/SENTRI card supersedes the GE card.

It's been a couple years since I signed up for GE and logged into GOES. I'm trying to sign up for the $15 RFID card. Now it's asking me to update my security questions and update my password. Problem is the next screen keeps popping up a system error. Been trying for 4 days. No answer from the DHS support email. Anybody else having this trouble?

I had the same problem when I tried to log-in. It turned out I used the wrong password. You can't use the "Forgot Password" link because it asks 3 security questions and since I haven't log in since I was approved in 2008, I never provided answers to the security questions. Anyway, I finally found my original application which I had printed out and where I had recorded my password. I was then able to Log-on and updated the questions and password and requested the card.

I had a similar problem. I was approved back in Summer of 08 and had to call to get a reset password, which actually took awhile but I was finally able to get back in, and found the link for the card once I clicked on the manage trusted traveler button. The "application" for the card was more intricate than the original, in fact some of my original info that was filled in was not enough and "error"ed me several times (for phone numbers and such) but I got it done and and now awaiting approval for the card.

I'd still like to know what the card looks like LOL

Your countries visited list will show up blank when you go through the application process to request the card. Curiously, the telephone numbers of my previous employers also did not carry over to the new application so I had to re-enter those. Also, the questions about previous crimes and CBP violations, not surprisingly, must be ticked yes or no again. All-in-all it was a pretty painless process. I submitted for cards for my wife and I on Monday and we're still in the 'pending review' stage.

Confused. I created a GOES account yesterday. Filled out the application. Could have sworn my app was for Global Entry and also Nexus? It showed a 50.00 each charge, but when I went to pay, it on,y charged me 50.00 and now says Trusted Traveler Program. Did I do something wrong ? Do I need to go back and reapply? Can I wait until they call me and ask if I signed up for both? I don't want this to e delayed since I have several Intl trips starting in Sept.

You have to fill that part out again.

The form isn't "pre-populated" with your travel data, nor for your previous addresses.
