I've given up on this. I'll just fix it when I renew next year.

I have TSA Pre-check. I recently received a new passport. There is no place on the website to update a passport number. Do I need to update my passport with the TSA at the airport? Or, is it not required since TSA Pre check is mainly an airport security measure within the U.S., from airport to airport only? Not like Global Entry that definitely requires a valid passport.

The TTP website is not used to apply for or manage standalone TSA Pre✓ memberships.

According to TSA.gov:


My personal information has changed. How do I update my information so that I can continue to receive TSA Pre✓®?

If you are a member of theTSA Pre✓® Application Program, you may call (855) 347-8371 weekdays, between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. ET, to make changes to your name, address, or other information contained in your records. You may also submit your inquiry online. You will be provided information regarding documentation needed to process the change.
P.S. I don't think that a valid passport is required for membership in the TSA PreCheck program.

I had called and inquired on line, and yes, I believe a valid passport isn't required as there's no place to even update it on your account. Thanks for confirming.

I have this problem now and when I landed a few weeks ago the agent said he couldnt update my info and the machine didnt work for me. He ended up sending me in for questioning it was a bit ridiculous even if it was 5-6 questions about my lifestyle. Does anyone know if the GE offices are open during Covid?

Cannot add updated passport info on Global Entry site
 
My GF just got a new passport less than 2 weeks ago. I tried to add the new passport number, issue date and expiration on the Global Entry site and it gives me us the following error message:

"We were unable to verify your document. Please correct your document information and click Submit

Note: If your name or date of birth on your new document does not match the name or date of birth displayed or if the information you entered is correct, please visit an enrollment center to update your document information."

Any idea what the issue is? To my knowledge, nothing has changed.

This is a common problem. Give it another week - or a month - for the two systems (the US password issuing system, and trusted traveler website system) to synchronize. Best information from recent posts in the long US Passport thread in the USA forum is that in a week or three after a new US passport is issued, the TTP web site will eventually recognize the new passport number and accept the update.

I got my passport renewed mid-April and am still waiting for the systems to sync up so I can get this updated online. I'm hoping this happens at least once every 30 days.

April 15th for me, and also still not working for me. Wife's passport just came in and it won't update either (5/3 for the date on hers though).

Just to follow up, it's been a month and a day since I last tried to update the passport info, and I was allowed to do that this time.
