I applied for a new card and a renewal on 01/17. Both are pending so far.

It is great that an interview is not required for your renewal since you do not live close to Canadian/USA border.

Also about 51 business days for my renewal (only relevant Federal Holidays are US ones: Presidents Day and MLK Day, I think). So pretty close to the CBSA prediction for the previous month!

Just the data points I wanted.

I applied for a renewal on January 31 and am still waiting. I'm a little concerned that I'll need an interview though, as I've moved countries, changed jobs, received a visa, and done a lot more traveling since I first applied.

I also lost my card on a SFO-YVR flight a week ago, and I was basically told that since I have a renewal in process I'm SOL for getting a replacement. So I really want this renewal to go through

I guess I'm looking at early to mid April if things keep up this pace. YVR security was a gong show without a NEXUS card in hand, even flying business class.

Argh. My card expires on 4/17 and I put in my application (renewal) on 2/16.

Last week, when I was departing YVR, I asked the person at the NEXUS counter how long is the average timeframe, and she said that CBSA approval is quick, but the holdup is with DHS.

As a Canadian living in the US who applied for renewal on January 31, watching all these February approvals, I'm not sure I agree

Looking back on my initial application for NEXUS, it was 14 days between submission and conditional approval...

Then again, when driving between rural Maine and rural NB, US Customs was a videophone on a pole.

ETA: It seems that the CBP website has been updated to read:

CBP and CBSA are asking the NEXUS members begin their application renewal 90 days prior to their membership expiration date.

According to Archive.org, CBP's web site has had this same "90 day renewal" recommendation since 2014.

Was there a difference in your application? I applied after my NEXUS membership expired, but the option just seemed like a new application rather than stating it was for a renewal.

How do you receive your card on a renewal without an interview? Through the mail?
