Yes, they are. Anyone can get that rate as long as they have a SkyMiles account regardless of level of activity. I think it's time for some credit cards to pick up the tab for this benefit as few want to actually pay for it.

I never run into any significant delays in the PreCheck line so I haven't felt like CLEAR would be worth much. The only airport where I've had to wait more than 5 minutes is Atlanta (still no more than 10 or so minutes).
It's not on their coming soon map, but they have a job opening for an airport supervisor for Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson:

It might worth it at IAD. It seems that CLEAR is the new Pre-PreCheck.
When I was IAD the other day, the PreCheck line had around at least 20 people in line. The regular line was empty, as did the CLEAR line, then I saw one or two people cut the line from the CLEAR check point.

Well, here's a reason to get CLEAR - TSA Pre at major airports closing at 8:00 PM: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trust...l#post27280168

Yes, that was my experience at IAD on October 6: Clear, then into the regular TSA screening (shoes off, etc.). No access to PreCheck with Clear.

There appears to be clear lines upstairs and downstairs. Did you use the one upstairs (where PreCheck is, but also disability security lines) or downstairs (which doesn't have PreCheck)?

I have not used the CLEAR checkpoint at IAD, but from what I have seen, CLEAR is wedged between PreCheck and the disabled checkpoint on the ticketing level. After CLEAR verification, PreCheck passengers are directed to the left for PreCheck screening, while ineligible passengers are shown to the right for conventional screening.

I have an IAH trip booked on Emirates. With Clear, would it be worth it to check in at D, and then make my way to Clear @ A (no Pre)? Or would a business ticket with EK (no Pre) @ D be just as fast in the long run?

I wish United/IAH/CLEAR would get their stuff together. Offering CLEAR service in Terminal A South only in IAH makes me regret very much renewing my CLEAR membership.

If you have elite status, will CLEAR escort you into the line for elites?

So with CLEAR in DEN, for example, you use the CLEAR machines, then you get directed into the Pre-Check screening area* or general screening area* depending on what your boarding pass says.
In short, CLEAR is basically a paid elite security line.
* - You do have to rescan your boarding passes with TSA to make them happy.
