That is exactly what CBSA told me in January. It only takes about a week to process NEXUS applications on the Canadian end, but the US is backlogged (perhaps even more so now under the current administration).

Applied: Jan 19, 2017 (late at night for both my husband and me)

Conditional Approval: Both of us woke up Monday, March 27th with an email waiting saying we were conditionally approved

Interview: Ft. Erie 4/8 -- Fort Erie has a ton of openings, and since we live in PA, we though we would hit up Niagara while we were doing our interviews. Their first available opening was the morning after we were approved! But we couldn't get up there that fast

Approval: N/A

Card Arrived: N/A

I have two birth certificates, but I think I am just going to go the American route since I live in the States and my husband is American... and I haven't renewed my Canadian passport in... a long time

marilynjane - please see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/d...n-citizens.asp

I know you're not travelling by air between Ft. Erie and Niagara Falls, but you better update your Canadian passport if you plan on flying into Canada...

Actually, they still let US/Canadian citizens fly into Canada on a US passport. That is an exception to the new rule.

We applied on Jan 17 and it's still pending. Good for you!

Thanks for the heads up, but glad I can still get by on my US passport. I do want to update my Canadian one anyway. We typically cross through Blaine but always fly into Seattle - it's just so much cheaper.

Spy - I'm guessing any day now! Good luck. We are headed to England end of May, and I am hoping we get our cards and the TSA Precheck and Global Entry benefits before then!

Seems most people who applied after me are getting approvals. Mine still shows pending review. I applied for one renewal and one new on
Jan 17. Anyone else in the same situation?

I may be wrong but It appears US residents get a faster processing time than Canadian residents going by what I've seen on this board.(Just My Opinion)
