My wife and I applied on June 6 and just received conditional approval today. That's one day shy of 14 weeks. We're in Halifax and was able to grab appointments on Saturday morning. Could have even grabbed one for tomorrow morning if I wanted. Tons of appointments available.

Final update: received the card in the mail, 7 business days later! Mailing address was Niagara Falls, NY rather than the address in Vermont on the acceptance letter.

Applied July 17th late evening. Conditional approval September 16th. Looks like over 8 weeks for approval. Interview scheduled for November 15th at YYZ. Could have gone to Ft Erie but it's more of a hassle and don't have any urgent travel plans.

Unhappy 5 month wait for Conditional Approval Interview

I've paid the NEXUS application fee on Mar 2 and STILL am in "Pending Review" status.
Of course the maximum 8 (EIGHT!) weeks time has passed, so I've wrote an e-mail to CBP Ombudsman and have received the following answer:

I also found a phone number to call and the nice guy with Indian accent politely explained to me that there are NO MORE time estimates - all I have to do is to WAIT INDEFINITELY until the status is changed.
I'll wait patiently to see if I can reach a quarter or may be a year waiting time.
Talking about new jobs - maybe US state administration should take a look at CBP and open few new positions to get the huge backlog issue fixed?... ;-)
In Calgary, Canada I received my Conditional Approval for NEXUS in 9 weeks but now have to wait another 5 months for the Interview. It is a crazy amount of time to have to wait!

I'm going to be in Calgary in about 3 weeks, so now I'm checking GOES couple times every day. Yesterday when I logged in it said next available was in 2/2015, today some appointments opened up for tomorrow. Name of the game is just check again and again like a crazy person.

Nexus Question

Hello All,
i have applied for NEXUS Card last week (Montreal). I am a canadian citizen and i have lived/worked in USA for 3 years in H1B Visa. no criminal offences and clean background check.
1. what are my chances for getting NEXUS card? Do they think i go back and work for any company because of my previous USA work history?
2. how long does it take in Montreal?
3. My online profile shows - "pending Review" - what is the next process?
4. I see people in this thread checking GOES for next available date? what is that and why is that?
please let me know. thanks

NEXUS application from Vancouver

I am a Canadian permanent resident living in Vancouver. I applied for NEXUS online 23-July-2014 for my wife, the familiy of children any myself. It was 'pending review' until 22-Sept-2014 (2 months) when all the conditional approvals were received at the same time.

Then comes the problem of arranging for the interview appointments. Next available were two months later at the Blaine border crossing, especially since I need to book for everyone going together. But the alternatives (Vancouver downtown, the YVR airport and even Seattle) were showing dates into January 2015!

But over the last few days, after constantly checking in, the occasional cancellation occurs. I managed to reschedule mine only to 7-Oct. So, it is easier to find cancelled appointments if you are a single applicant.

Depending how old your kids are you might be able to bring one or two along... they aren't going to interrogate a newborn for example...

Stay logged into GOES and keep trying to reschedule. There are always earlier dates popping up. Alternatively , there is Sweetgrass (always easy to get into) and YEG

You should have no problem getting approved unless you have a criminal record or past issues with customs infractions. Current processing times are 8-12 weeks for approval so don't expect anything til novermber or december. Once conditionally approved you will get an email telling you to log into the website and choose a time for an interview. People often book the 1st available spot as you only have 30 days to schedule an interview even if it's 3 months away. You can then check back for cancellations and reschedule the interview to an earlier time. Sometimes booking the interview at a boarder crossing is easier than airport locations. YVR area seems to be the worst location for interviews. YHZ is the easiest.

Im thinking my application got screwed up some how.

Went in for my interview Sept 3 at Pearson (YYZ) and I still don't have my card. I called and they said everything was processed fine and I should get my card any day now.

I'm traveling in November so I'd really like to have my card by then so I really hope it gets sorted out.

Has anyone received their card after the 7-10 business days they tell you?
