Welcome to FT. Thank you for sharing. I have updated wiki for you. Some prefer 3 pm shift walk in instead of 7 am shift. If you plan to wait for a long time, it may be cheaper to park at Millbrae BART station and take BART into SFO.
They seemed interested in scaring people. When they took the waiting list they said they'd ONLY process people if they had cancellations. After a woman asked a few times "does anyone actually really cancel?" the employee finally admitted that yes, they also manage to squeeze people in, but not to expect that every no-show results in a walk-up spot. She ALSO said that the 3pm shift *may or may not* choose to take a walk-up list at all. I guess she doesn't want to make it sound like it's a guarantee there will be a list. Plus, I imagine if someone has the patience to wait around all day, if they don't get called first shift, they automatically become first in line on the afternoon shift. Anyway, this board plus Yelp reviews helped me figure out how best to proceed. |

PHL - Yes [50m] 10/06/16
Added to wiki, at PHL on Oct 6th they squeeze in two adults and an infant as walk-ins at 3pm. There was a steady stream of 6-7 folks who DID have appointments who were all seen before us. The CBP agent was incredibly gracias and apologized for the "wait" of 50 mins.

Greetings follow travelers, need some advice flying into EWR on the last week of Sept. 8:30 am arrival then changing airports to fly out of JFK Terminal 4 at 13:30 same day. Looking at the GOES interview appointment schedules, JFK is blank-out until NOV where at least EWR has not available appointments for SEPT. I have 5 hours between flights, hopefully the arrival is on time, then renting a car for the drive from EWR to JFK. I prefer to skip EWR GE location due to unknown factors like traffic conditions to JFK, changing EWR terminal from C to B GE location, pickup rental or if they take the walk-in at EWR it could be a long wait. JFK would be a lot less stress since I'm at the airport if waiting for the interview. If you had to choose one location (I know I can try both) which one would be better odds on walk-ins EWR or JFK? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Re PHL walk-ins, I visited the office ca.12 noon on 31st August and was told walk-ins were considered after 5pm. Asked about on Saturdays and was told it would be the same. Returned on 1st September (Wed) at 5.35pm. Officer at Reception desk said he would add my name to list and notify interviewing officers and sent me to view the video. After about 10 minutes in the waiting room, an officer appeared, checked I was not on his official typed list and disappeared. About 10 minutes later he reappeared and took me for interview. Completed interview by 6.05 and email received by 6.20. I was fourth or fifth handwritten addition to his typed list. Just as I was taken for interview, one person appeared and was taken by a second officer just as I finished my interview, he apologised for being early (6.30 interview). As I was leaving another person was just arriving.
Mod please post PHL 08/31 noon no 9/1 5:35pm yes (20mins) |

When I started the Wiki, I never expected to see so many data points. Thank you all. I have started to re-format the Wiki to hopefully be easier to read as well as provide a bit more information. I will continue to reformat when I have time.

Glad to see there has been some success at SFO. My wife has her appointment
on December 14, and my 7yo daughter is scheduled for January. Hopefully we'll get CBP to interview my little girl after my wife's appointment. |
Don't know if this will be helpful or not, but when I went for my scheduled interview at PVD on 9/21 there were several signs (including one on the outer door) saying No Walk-Ins.
There was one guy present when I arrived, and he was called in about 9:20. He came out 10 or so minutes later, and I was called for my 9:30 appointment at 9:35. I don't recall anyone being in the waiting room when I left. |
do they offer walk-in interviews at IAH at any of their locations there?
Any experiences? Thanks |
