This excellent blog is from a Birmingham based food writer, although he also covers other jurisdictions. There are enough recommendations in here for several months of nights out in Birmingham.

To keep them coming, Miller and Carter at resort world. Miller and carter never disappoints and our server is great with a table of ten keeping her busy. Chicken starter was OK, bread ‘nibbles’ was enormous, steak was good, mash was off the scale

Tonight I’m in Santorini

I’ve walked past here a few times and it has always been busy so I thought it was time to give it a go.
No sooner had I sat down than this dip selection appeared. I assume they’re complimentary, I’ve not even seen a menu yet

A taste of all three and they are good, very very good! The Tirokafteri has a real kick to it, I’m thoroughly impressed at this point in time.

Well I’m not sure what happened here…. I ordered a mixed portion lamb donna and chicken skewer

I received lamb donner, chicken donner, lamb shish, chicken shish, Greek salad with feta, chips, rice, roast potatoes….. that is a full size 12 inch dinner plate.
No surprise, I didn’t finish it
I got past half way but the finish line was still far far out of sight.
It was all better than average but not amazing, it lacked some sort of sauce to help cut the fat, or even an acidic salad dressing.

A large JD and a bucket of coffee to finish the evening.

And the menus for this evening. They are very definitely ‘cafe’ style
. They’ve been laminated and then seen hard use so I had to put them in the floor to get a glare free picture. Glare free, yep, in focus, not so much

A complementary baklava and Ouzo to end the evening

There has been Greek music playing on the TV all the time I have been here, some sort of private dinner concert. It has been washing over me until this lady started singing, what a stunning voice.

I shall have to do some image searching later unless anyone reading this knows who she is?
The ouzo is dangerous stuff, has all the flavours of ouzo but the bite has been greatly softened by the fruit… dangerous stuff!
And now the final bill.

Absolute bargain considering over half was booze/coffee (2 large mythos, double JD, coffee)
I cannot make the number match the menus but the broad strokes match
I’ll definitely be back the next time I stay at the Radisson.
