A great feature of Washington is the shear amount of free quality museums, i.e. the National Gallery of Art. A relative's portrait hangs there in one of the permanent exhibits. This reminds that I need to go for a visit this spring as I think my last visit was pre-COVID.

United States Botanical Garden Washington

The United States Botanical Garden is not particularly large, but entry is free. It is worth a (very small) detour.
