Amanjena
In the evening, we went to the Japanese restaurant this time. We focussed on hot dishes, and there is also sushi (more on this later).
The food was good, albeit relatively expensive. But you can expect that at the Amanjena, it's just part of the experience.

Jardin Majorelle
Yes, the Jardin Majorelle is probably part of every visit to Marrakech. It's important to know that you have to book your tickets online in advance. Many people didn't know this and then stood around stupidly in the queue only to be sent away at the end.
The garden was then really full. It is dominated by the famous blue colour, but the cacti are particularly worth seeing. There is also a museum about Berber culture, but photography was forbidden there.

Musee Yves Saint Laurent
The Yves Saint Laurent Museum is located next to the Jardin Majorelle and is a modern building.

The entrance area with the distinctive trademark.

There are several exhibition rooms with pictures and clothing. All interesting, but photography was forbidden. So just a few photos from the corridors.

Maison de la Photographie
We wanted to explore the Medina a little and were dropped off near the Medersa Ben Youssef. But first we passed the Maison de la Photographie. The museum is housed in an old riad and displays a number of interesting photographs.

A staircase leads to the roof terrace.

There is a cafeteria with simple but tasty food at quite reasonable prices.

Medersa Ben Youssef
The Medersa Ben Youssef is an old Koranic school located in the centre of the medina.

The individual living spaces are arranged around a large inner courtyard with many other courtyards. There are elaborate decorations and colourful tiles in many places.

What were your overall impressions of Amanjena? It seems quite dated, if not necessarily tired (bed notwithstanding) to me. Something about the design seemed just a bit off, a lot of dead space, I think. Although, the restaurant looks stunning. The golf course and the patchy grass was particularly shocking. Meanwhile, the hollandaise on your salmon benedict didn't look very good, as if it had been sitting out. For the reputation and price I would have expected everything to be utterly flawless. But a beautiful city regardless!

The hotel works very well, but especially considering the location and the mediocre restaurants, I would stay somewhere else next time (don't think that will be anytime soon).

Musee de Marrakesh
The Musee de Marrakesh is one of the larger museums in the city.

First of all, there are beautiful, classic showrooms.

The wow effect then comes in the central room with its open-plan side rooms - very impressive.

There are a few more exhibition rooms, but they are less impressive.
