What were your overall impressions of Amanjena? It seems quite dated, if not necessarily tired (bed notwithstanding) to me. Something about the design seemed just a bit off, a lot of dead space, I think. Although, the restaurant looks stunning. The golf course and the patchy grass was particularly shocking. Hard to say. I don't actually think the hotel is dated, I would still describe it as timeless. The service was good, the public areas were absolutely impressive for me. The golf course didn't look that great, but I'm less interested in that. I wasn't that impressed with the room, which was in fact on the lower end of what I would expect.
The hotel works very well, but especially considering the location and the mediocre restaurants, I would stay somewhere else next time (don't think that will be anytime soon).
