Decided that the only appropriate action was to "improvise, adapt, and overcome", so I picked on some poor asian bloke who looked like he knew SFA English, waved my boarding pass under his nose and told him to piss off out of my seat. ;-)

Stuck him in 55F, and enjoyed a comfy aisle seat in the second last row from LAX-SYD, scoffing a fillet mingon that my seafood allergy had secured for me.

I'd tell you exactly where to go with attitude like that! Did you only pick on him because he looked like "some poor asian bloke who looked like he knew SFA English"?

The rest of the report is interesting enough, but personally, I didn't appreciate hearing about your attitude toward fellow travellers. It wasn't the other passenger's fault that you had a seat that was not to your liking!

Of course, if that's how you choose to conduct yourself when you travel, then that's your choice...

Interesting report, however I have to agree with 777Brit's remark.

I feel really sorry for the poor guy who you displaced too - wish that he had the guts to tell you where to go (which I would have done). Glad that I am not Australian, otherwise I would have felt my nationality badly represented there....

Very rude.

Travelling is a competitive sport - no one told you

I side with you on this one, if niceness doesnt work, bully - its the only way sometimes. ( American foreign policy runs along simular lines)

Sorry, that's the wrong conclusion. If niceness doesn't work, there's no legitimate reaction to "punish" a third, innocent person.

If met with this situation I'dve looked the other person straight in the eyes and said "Bugger off." Entertaining report otherwise but please, don't piss on the other passengers because YOU got shafted with a sh!tty seat assignment!

I agree with 777Brit.

It's really uncalled for and rude for you to intimidate another passenger out of his assigned seat. Ruined an otherwise good trip report for me.

And I side with Plato and 777Brit that what you did was impolite -- I hesitate to dip into another nation's slang, but to this knocker, "bludger" or "larrikin" come to mind.

What right as a traveller would you have to bully someone out of his or her assigned seat, merely because you have a seat assignment you find to be disagreeable?

Remember, aircraft economy cabins are not made up of only window and aisle seats, someone has to sit in the middle from time to time. We may not like it, but that's just the way it is. If you don't like it, don't bully other passengers into moving, either accept it, don't fly, or pay for an upgrade.

If I had been the "asian bloke who looked like he knew SFA English" I would have had you thrown off the plane. Stick to Greyhound, shillard.

How rude .....you racist ****

It is people that think that Asians are quiet and docile that makes me extra loud and assertive in America / Australia.

Please, please, please tell me this was your idea of a joke and none of us here got it. Otherwise, your behavior is just too low-end for words.

I just want to say, before I get called a 'whining pom', I would like to make clear that I felt offended by the comment and that's why I responded as such.

I look English, but I'm actually half Asian and believe me, I'm most definitely not a poor Asian bloke who knows SFA English.

shillard, I understand you're a new poster here and I appreciate your trip report. However, perhaps it's better to be a little more sensitive when posting, as your words, which may appear to be acceptable to yourself, maybe be quite offensive to others.

Thanks for your understanding and input to FlyerTalk.
