My father in law and his business associate were more than once the only 2 pax on a US flight PIT-AOO.

Nowadays it's probably more common to only have 2 pax on a US Airways flight

Does that count?

<lol>

It definitely counts for something in my book! ^ But then again, my book is read by no one but me. :D

Late 90's, 1 of 2 more than once; BGM-PHL, the old US Shorts 360's (square fuselage)

A few years ago, I was the only one on SLC-CPR. The flight was bumpy and uncomfortable so I blew my per diem on beer.

Back in the days of the Eastern Shuttle if you showed up at the gate prior to scheduled departure, you were guaranteed a seat even if they had to roll out another airplane for you.

Well one day I was travelling LGA-DCA and as luck would have it there were two more of us than there were available seats on the stretch 727. I was willing to wait an hour but the other fellow wasn't, he "needed" to be in Washington. True to their word, the "spare" 727 at the next gate was fired up and, since they were going to take him I thought I might as well go along. Two passengers on a 727-200, four F/A's and three pilots, kind of strange.

Another time, two days after we bombed Libya in the 1980's, I was on a Pan Am 747 JFK-FCO, one guy in First, me alone in Business and about ten in coach. The Purser said that up until the day before the flight had been booked at 80%.

Once in the mid 1990's I was the only passenger on a Sky West flight between IDA and SLC. There was a pilot, a co-pilot and one FA. It is the only time I have ever been on that flight where I was offered a beverage - water if I remember correctly.

It wasn't Delta but I have been the only passenger before. It was scheduled service but a very small plane to a very small market on a very short flight. I was at the gate at least an hour before the gate and the Captain appeared and asked me if I was Mr. Ind U Fan...I said that I was and he said let's go.

Why negative? Fair risk analysis. I agree with Mike, I never fly EMB120. Or Beech 1900.

I am. I have been flew on E120 by 15 years ago where I am coming home from school. I remember that was smoother ride on E120 but, I flown on E120 for 7 times coming from MCO-FLL & FLL-JAX-FLL. This is my last ride on E120 on OH before they are going on the strike for approximately is 89 days due to Comair strike back in 2001.

"Mr TFD - Your plane is ready!"

Right after 9/11 I was on CVG-BWI on on Comair CRJ. The GA made the announcement:

"Mr. TFD - Your plane is ready".

Everyone laughed in the C-Concourse at CVG. It was a hilarious announcement.

The FA was no joke and did everything by the book - I asked if I could do the safety demonstration and she said "No, I am required to do this by the FAA". No smiles - Standard Service - etc etc.

The pilot was great though - Gave me the CRJ "cockpit tour" after I boarded. It was pretty cool, especially given that 9/11 had just happened...

I was one of two paying pax on MCO-ATL on the 777, two non-revs were also on board but they kept to the back, we had the whole BE cabin to ourselves.

On a seats per passenger basis, I think this wins.

I don't know if this counts either

but I have been known to be the only person on the plane.... the only FA, the only pilot, the only pax...But alas there was NO overhead space! :D

Sorry... Just couldn't resist:rolleyes:

I have never been the only person on a flight. I went on my first TATL trip, almost 2 years ago. Flew on LX from ZUR-CDG and FCO-ZUR (took trains from CDG to FCO), both on A319's. I'd say that on both flights, the plane was less than half full.

That's crazy.

I had flights with US just over a year ago. Looked on the seat map for those flights. There were 100+ seats empty on a 757. That was 2 or 3 weeks in advance of that date. Somehow in those 3 or 4 weeks, that flight got full.

Now you are putting us on!

Perhaps the other passengers who would have been on this flight had heard that the Embraer 120 is not required to survive the catastrophic failure of a single engine. Rather than requiring Embraer to fix the design, the FAA waived the requirement after a crash a few years ago.

A few years ago? Are you by chance referring to this accident which occurred almost 15 years ago --

When I was in college, I believe it was 1968, I was the only passenger on a Lake Central flight operating CVG-PKB. I don't know how I managed to remember the equipment, but it was a Nord 262, made in France.

At that time, PKB was serviced by three airlines, Allegheny and Piedmont, in addition to Lake Central.
