I flew ORD-BMI in May, on a Sunday morning. I was one of three passengers. Instead of calling group numbers, they called for "Passengers Caaribmorpho, Smith, and Jones" to board through the gate.

Sure did - and it was the first time I've ever been offered beverage service on that flight - another first!

Sweet! That would be one to remember!

I was once one of 3 passengers on an F100 service ORD-ALB. Instead of boarding by row (as this was before group numbers), they just made the announcement: "Mr Clanum, Mr XXXX, and Mr. XXXX, your plane is ready"

In the 70's, while Eastern Airlines had a DCA-LGA hourly shuttle, they guaranteed that if a flight filled up, they would roll out another plane and take you to LGA. One time, I was one of only 6 pax on the second 727 that hour.

Time for reading glasses? :D

TVL = South Lake Tahoe (once even served by L-188 Electras, but never by AA AFAIK)

TLV = Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport, Israel

But since you were the only passenger, you should have thought of it as your own private jet.

Though the thread nominally began as an American Eagle story, it has turned into a thread with wider interest than American Airlines / American Eagle; the thread has therefore been transported to TravelBuzz! for wider particapation.

ahhhh, the old eastern shuttle....

i remember it well lga-bos along and being on the "3rd section" which was a lockheed L88. what i remember best was a full service galley and that the take off roll was amazingly fast (now otoh, diverting to syr for fuel due to major weather delays on the worst roller coaster flight i was ever on was not fun )

My empty / near empty flights/cabins:

Whole plane:
- Only passenger on a scheduled helicopter flight in bush Alaska (it also delivers cargo)
- May have been only passenger on some prop planes in the bush; defintely been one of at most two passengers a number of times
- One of two passengers, plus a deadheading crew member from another airline, on a E145 IND-ORD on ATA Express

Domestic F
- Only passenger SEA-ANC on AS, last flight of the day, some years ago

International J
- Only one DXB-SVO on SU, last summer; I guess low oil prices affected DXB-based and SVO-based customers
- Flew SVO-AMS on SU the next day, one of two

International F
- One only MNL-ICN on KE, two years ago
- Also flew ICN-MML on that trip, think there were only a few

Last year I was one of only two passengers in business class on a morning Gulf Air flight from BAH - LHR. F was empty and Y was less than a quarter full.

Received great service from the FAs, my pick of the seats and the crew got to spend most of the flight sleeping.
