Only 1 PAX on flight

I just flew SLC-SUN this morning on an EMB120 Brasilia. I was the only passenger on the flight. It was a bit weird. Especially strange when the FA still went through all of the announcements as though the plane were full. I know they have to, but it felt weird.

Has anyone else been the ONLY passenger on a scheduled flight? (Obviously charter flights are excluded!)

i've been one of 4 before, but nothing as special as you.

Yes, back in 2006 (?) IIRC. I was on a DAU AIR plane from THF (Berlin-Tempelhof) to Dortmund (DTM), it was a Saab340 and they started the route just 3 days earlier. The arriving flight had about 10 pax, but on the return to DTM it was just me. Felt strange, yet kind of cool :)

The went out of business about a month later....

I once had a flight with IB from MAD to IAD. In Y, only about 20 pax all sleeping in the middle rows. It was a hunge Airbus, I once woke up and looked up totally confused because no pax was visible (all laying flat in the middle rows). Felt pretty weird.

A data point for all those conspiracy theorist that airlines cancel flights that don't sell well.

The flight was the first flight of the day SLC-SUN. Since the flight was too early for pax connecting to SUN, the flight is probably considered a repositionsing flight as the return SUN-SLC immediately afterward was well booked.

Many years ago (back in "Royal Medallion" days and before the CRJs), I was confirmed on the last flight of the night from ATL to LEX. I wanted to be on the earlier flight but it was "sold out." Once my in-bound got to ATL, I went over to the gate for the earlier flight to LEX to see if I could get on it. As I got there, the GA was just arriving and there was no one sitting in the boarding area. I ask the GA if there were any seats open and he replied that ALL THE SEATS WERE OPEN. Some how, the Delta computer system had marked the flight as fully booked even though there was no one on it. In the end, another PAX who had the same idea I did (standby) and I were the only PAX on the MD88. The FAs moved us up to First and the other PAX and I did the safety briefing to the FAs. We were both such FFers that we knew it by heart (and still do). Booze and snacks flowed freely for the flight.

1997. IAH>TPA. Plane was supposed to leave at 8:30pm. Went mech. They moved everyone, but I stayed and met a friend (Days when they could go to the gate.) Left about 1am and I was the only one left. It was an MD-80 I believe.

Perhaps the other passengers who would have been on this flight had heard that the Embraer 120 is not required to survive the catastrophic failure of a single engine. Rather than requiring Embraer to fix the design, the FAA waived the requirement after a crash a few years ago.

I was the only passenger on a Key West - Orlando regional jet flight a couple years ago. Delta recently dropped the route altogether.

Why negative? Fair risk analysis. I agree with Mike, I never fly EMB120. Or Beech 1900.

In the early 70's, very late night, IAD-EWR just me and the crew on an AA 707.

I was one of 5 on a new (only flown once prior with PAX) Airbus 320 (320 I think; seats were two three two) - RSW to YYZ on Canada 3000. Another airline that didn't last long.
