Similar to buying the worst house on the best street (better than buying the best house on the worst street), I would prefer sitting in the worst first class seat.

Ditto that. I flew LHR-LAX in NZ Y and it was great! CX economy is very good too.

The worst F definitely.
The ratio of FAs to passengers is better, so if you need something, you'll receive it usually.

Also, even a small amount of extra space outweighs other potential bennies of best Y.

I find it hard to consider the drinks as "free" when the ticket is an extra 1000$

If not all ready free, you would be able to buy the same two G&T's, or whatever you drink, for arround 15$ in every coach

Drinks, meals don't matter a whole lot to me. What I really need most is a wide seat with tollerable leg room, if not good leg room. I don't need acres of it, but wider than the 17" seats and at least 38" of leg room.
Yeah. I am wondering at what first class seat could be that bad?
