First try 490,530 (IQ 124), level 11. My weakness lies in finding those little islands in Micronesia and Australia and the Carribbean. Second try broke 500K but still missed getting to level 12 by a few thousand points. It's also fun counting the number of times you get less than 100 miles away as well as major flubs (over 1000). The second time I had fewer flubs (five or six as opposed to mmore than ten the first time). Thanks to the OP for sharing this.

Larger would definitely help. My first try was at level 10, around 357K, and a couple tries today got me up to level 11, at 484K. I can see what I'll be doing all week!
For those that like vocabulary (OT) games that feed people, try www.freerice.org - for each correct answer, 20 grains of rice are donated to the World Hunger Fund, or some such organization. There are 50 levels, and I have a hard time staying on 50 (though I have several times). They add words periodically, too

I've seen this on Facebook and TripAdvisor. According to the latter my best score is 662,295 with a Travel IQ of 140. Puts me at #52 on the TripAdvisor whereas I'd be about 427,846,624 on Facebook!

It seems much easier to get higher IQ scores on Tripadvisor than Facebook. You want to see some of the scores some people have over there on TA. Mine is 148, but some people are claiming over 170!

I just noticed this thread and did the game. I fear a new addiction. I got to Level 11 on the first try -- 463,676 points & a IQ of 121. Must do better... Will keep playing...
Thanks OP!! ^
#2: Level 11; 486,940; 124 ... must keep trying...
#3: Level 11; 488,924; 124 ... having trouble getting out of 11, obviously, though there is a learning curve. This is addictive.
#4 Went backward!
#5 Level 11; 511,569 -- and no offer to play again. What does it mean?
#6 LEVEL 12 -- Woo Hoo! 583,855; 134. Still about 9000 points needed to advance past level 12 to what? Nirvana? Am finally declaring myself content and going to bed. Now that I've learned more about Australia. Really must visit & see some of these new places I've learned!
I then moved on to Photos of the World and managed to get past Level 7 (of 7) on the second try. OP, this is as bad as crack cocaine! Really am stopping now...

Found through another thread.
Level 10, IQ 110 (don't remember how many points).
Weaknesses: Pretty much anywhere in Africa; the technical aspects of pointing and clicking at such a small map (I often clicked EXACTLY where the city "should" be, and it says like 200 km away!)
Strengths: Since I was "off" even on cities that I know the exact location, it was less disheartening to know the general region of a city, and click with a guess, and be only like 95 km away! Yay!

The key is to change your screen resolution to enlarge the map. I go from 1400x1050 to 800x600, and presto, the map is now a reasonable size. Then make the browser full-screen (using F11) so you can see the score at the same time. It fits neatly.
I was obsessed to find out what happened when you complete stage 12 of 12, which I've now done a few times with scores around 600,000 and an IQ of 135. The answer is er, ah, no I guess I'll keep it a secret...
