fun game! just played this for the first time and, dude, africa kicks my butt. I thought Guyana was in Africa... I convinced myself that I was thinking of Guinea. 
I was as close as 33km to the Battle of Hastings and about 8000km (!) away from Guyana.

Guinea is what killed me too...
I confused it with Papua New Guinea
Lot of the countries and places on this were mentioned in Financial Times.
If I wasn't reading Financial Times, I would not have known the location of
Burkina Faso.
