I spent my entire week's trip in England trying to find Wispa bars. No luck - heck, most people had no idea what I was even talking about. Picking up a last minute bottle of soda just as I was making my way to the gate, the news stand at the airport had them!

Two things:
Vichy Derchos- French costmcuetical- think rogaine that works. English P&G tea- now available at Trader Joes and World Markets but didn't used to be. I was never able to find crackers, saltines, ritz, etc. when I lived in Europe. Jayson |
There have been several over the years for me:
- From the UK: For years I swore only by Sure deodorant from the UK. It came in a cool glass bottle unlike anything you can get in the US. Even once I moved back to the States I would import them or bring back 15 at a time on a visit. Sadly they haven't made them in several years now (switched to plastic). I also was addicted to Frijj milkshakes from the grocer - but those are made with regular milk and so are not importable. - From Canada: T3 and Gravol pills (Gravol fights motion sickness but, IMHO, better than what we have). Also, "real" beer. - From Sint Maarten: There's an amazing peanut drink they sell in the groceries (in the same boxes you would normally see fruit drinks in the US). Delicious. I'm sure I'm missing some.... |

My method of selection is to choose what they are about to run out of - I figure the regulars know what they're doing. |
Pocari Sweat (Japan)
Just kidding about actually wanting to buy this drink available in vending machines...I thought the name was hilarious...made me think "hog sweat". Doesn't taste too bad, but I would not go out of my way to get it. Pocky Chocolate (Japan) Another funny name....little sweet biscuit sticks with the ends dipped in chocolate. Not bad. |
L&P^^

Our friends in Florida have placed an order for Caramello Koalas. We introduced the delicious Cadbury chocolate caramel filled koalas to them on our Med cruise last year!

Pineapple tarts from Singapore.

Remegel. I ALWAYS grab a ton at Boots whenever transiting the UK. Best antacid I've ever used. First time I had it was on a JNB-LHR flight midway through my first super-run (DFW-SCL-MAD-LHR-CPT-JNB-LHR-ORD-DFW, with nary a night in a hotel and my longest ground-time being 5 hours).
Acuvue Advanced - I haven't had time to visit my optometrist in about 8 months and ran out of contacts. Thankfully in Mexico they don't look at the expiry. A bit more expensive but the convenience factor is worth it! Pocky - MMMmmm... you CAN get it here in the US but it's better there. Bitter Lemon - NEVER see it on sale here... a very special angel has been keeping me stocked. Real Ginger Beer - only ever had it in Singapore and on SQ. |

Real Ginger Beer - only ever had it in Singapore and on SQ. And a decent bitter lemon on a hot summer's day is also quite an experience. |
South African Rooibos (Freshpak) is always a treat....

In the US: A1 Steak Sauce ^
