There seems to have been a very small selection of shower gels in Canada and New York during my recent travels - what do you use to clean your body in North America when you have a shower? Soap? Shampoo?

Shiseido "whitening" lotions in Asia. To be tan in Asia is to be a poor villager/farmer. To be tan in US and European countries is to be fabulous (and eventually cancerous)

Uh we use soap, and shampoo for hair. Been doing this forever.

I wondered what that catch-all soapy thing was in Germany when i was there 2 weeks ago...

Shower gels are becoming more popular, but it seems mostly with women, who use the gels with a luffa (loofa, loofah) - usually the artificial kind.

I certainly wouldn't be caught dead using a loofah, I think they'd take away my male card!

You can get meltykiss at area Asian supermarkets. I've seen these at GrandMart for example

Weird! In Europe, only old people use soap, I think! I find shower gel much more practical, and more gentle to the skin than soap. And also more hygienic.

Our selection of shower gels is usually as big as the selection of shampoos.

So nobody is taking back shower gel from Europe?

In the US, World Market is stocking Jaffa Cakes, Flake (a few different types), and Bounty. I saw them when I treated myself to some Malteasers a few weeks ago when I was in a World Market in Northern Virginia. The Malteasers were fresh--not old stock--and were very good. These may be considered seasonal Christmas/holiday items, so put some thought into your acquisition and hoarding strategy.

May be I'm aging myself at 37-y-old! ;)

There are a ton of very mild bar soaps out there (CDN/US). "Dove" comes to mind. But there are plenty of gels too. Just not that often in hotels.

If you're curious... Try the local home-delievery supermarket around Chicago: www.peapod.com and use "60061" as the zip code. That's in the suburbs of Chicago. Then search for "shower gels". There are quite a few of them.

While I haven't been to Australia or New Zealand where these cookies are sold, I once met up with an Aussie who was on holiday in the US and shared several packages of these with our tour group. They were delightful! ^

Coke made with sugar (whether it's from Canada or Europe)

Coffee from Germany (Jacobs). The same brand from another country doesn't taste as good.

Interesting. PC started off making generics largely for the US market:
I imagine it still does. In any case, I've seen PC brand in stores in
Illinois and Massachusetts.

Nutmeg jam from Grenada. Kind of nutmeggy, a little sweet but not too cloying like most U.S jams. Texture like thick honey, it tends to granulate in the fridge but doesn't seem to ever go bad in the pantry. Nobody sells it here in the U.S that I've ever heard, so it's a rare delight.

Double post. deleted, sorry

I have never seen PC on my travels in the USA. But to clarify, what I am talking about is the PC "Decadent" choc-chip cookies... "Decadent" as I understand is a premium version of PC (so a premium generic, I guess). More recently I have seen decadent "choc-chunk", "upside-down", and other yummy variations.
