No, not really... You can do West Coast-ICN-VVO-PKC, but if you don't time it just right (or your schedule doesn't allow you, as in my case) or there are any significant delays - you're screwed. There's only a few flights a week fm ICN to VVO and one or two flights a week from VVO to PKC.

I could be wrong but I believe the CoC for almost all airlines prohibits passengers from being a nuisance, including "offensive body odor" or something along those lines. If a pax were to complain about another pax's BO, which one (if any) would be reseated and/or kicked off the plane? Has anyone actually witnessed a removal occur?

Cheap cologne can be a lifesaver. A small dab under your nose will cover up the more offensive BO from your fellow passengers.

Personally, I'd rather smell Issey Miakey for 8 hours than have someone's Right Guard take a left!

How about those winners who put nail polish on during a flight?

Nail polish contains acetone which is flamable and IIRC prohibited. Seems there was a thread about a women getting her hands slapped on flight for this.

Well I will admit to being a stinky passenger a few times. Was on a mountianeering trip and came off the hill with little time to spare before my return flight. As such, after 4 nights out I had no time for a shower before my flight. I did my best to get cleaned up including a little deodorant. Fortunatley, I had the window seat with no one in the middle but someone in the aisle seat.

Body odor is one thing but perfume worse in my book.

Smells like a drunk!

I've been guilty of something similar.

Earlier last month, I went to a Cubbie day game and had to rush from Wrigley directly to my flight out of ORD in the early evening. When Soriano hit the leadoff home run, the the guy behind me jumped up to cheer and ended up spilling some beer on the back of my shirt.

I'm sure I had a few glances from people around me at the gate.

i just don't know why some people don't mind if they stink or not. especially so with onions! and yet they still find the nerve to keep talking to you as if they are sooo lovable! i swear it took all the manners off me so i took out my hanky and pressed it on my nose so he stopped. i never took it off till the plane landed. glad it was only a hour flight.

We could be seatmates - this is one of my favorite perfumes! Wear it all the time.

I've had people that pull out the stinky food! Curry kills me, and one flight I had this husband and wife team pull out their dinner and consume it. UGH. I was trapped by the window and sat with my coat over my nose the whole time.

"I've had people that pull out the stinky food! Curry kills me..."
I guess it's a matter of taste/tolerance; I can put up with curry, but fish gets to me, and esp. Mrs. Rawan.
We've been stuck next to everything under the sun. Cheap perfume is one of the worst, though.
Also, had an elderly gentleman with arthritis sitting near me on a TATL. He had some sort of (home made?) cream on his knees. Smelled like eucalyptus + WD-40 + acetone. He kept rubbing some one every 1-2 hours. He knew it smelled, and kept apologizing. Felt sorry for the guy, but it also gave me one throbbing headache.
The more air travel becomes commonplace, the more varied clients will be on the planes. I guess it's just a part of being on a public conveyance.
Still, I wonder if the airlines can try a simple public education program, encouraging passengers to be considerate of their fellow passengers by using appropriate hygiene methods.
Now, OTOH, there was that lovely brunette who sat next to me on BA from DTW to LHR, back when I was 15.... She smelled divine Wish she was there on all my flights.

I worked a flight to GRU where a passenger, before departure, complained about a stinky passenger. (the stinky one had just flown in from somewhere in Asia, so it was understandble. A very long day for him) He smelled horrible and a few people were refusing to sit. Because the flight was full, the agent came on and asked him to clean up in the lavs. I don't know why but perhaps because he opened up the shirt and really released the odors, when he came out of the lavs it was much worse!

The agent felt she had no choice except to take him off the plane. She got him a hotel, meal vouchers and rebooked him for the next night. We all felt bad for this guy but WOW, he really smelled terrible.

(when we got to GRU, the original complainer went to a supervisor and tried to have all of us written up for getting the stinky man kicked off the plane. He felt we were rude to do that and instead should have just upgraded him (complainer) and leave the guy on. )

You can tell this person about the problem, particularly just before the flight lands and you can help his career. With a body odor person, they may get mad and punch you but (maybe) there's less risk with an executive wanabee.

If I were not in a hurry, I would welcome a break in travel with an airline provided hotel and next day flight.

A blend of exotic south Asian spices, as much as I love the food, tends to come out through my pores. That means armpit, facial oil, and skin. I make sure to not consume food of this nature a day prior to traveling. This occurs even though I'm not smelly when I perspire normally.

In January I'll be visiting India, and I fear that I will stink every day. That said, if I'm getting the same treatment from those around me, I'm not going to bother worry about it Reverse of the Golden Rule: Treat others as how they treat you!

Stink Bombs

I'm sure you've all encountered the gassy passenger who doesn't seem to realize his "test release" failed. I flew from LAS to DTW, a tidy four hours, in the vicinity of such a violater. Like clockwork, every 15 minutes he/she would float a cloud of stink that would hover over my seat for approximately 42 seconds.

Now, I'm no Glade Air Freshener myself in the confines of my own home, as testified by my wife, but this was intolerable. If the gates of hell have a smell, this was it.

Maybe nervous flyers have this type of reaction...

I have never encountered any extreme smelly passengers, but should it happen inhaling Poy-Sian should do the trick. At least it works against the sewers of Bangkok.

But I have to say whenever I fly back from Bangkok I seem to get funny looks from other passengers when I start eating my durian sandwiches.
