Then maybe the final 20 over the next 2-3 years? The first eight on the list may be tricky though.

1. Syria
2. Saudi Arabia
3. Yemen
4. Angola
5. South Sudan
6. Chad
7. Central African Republic
8. Eritrea

9. Madagascar
10. Comoros
11. Seychelles
12. Mauritius
13. Cape Verde
14. South Africa
15. Lesotho
16. Swaziland
17. Namibia
18. Botswana
19. Mozambique
20. Malawi
Congratulations!
I'd consider more than 2-3 years for your list of 8. I would be glad if things return to be kosher in Syria or Yemen in this lifetime.
But #9 to 20 will be a piece of cake and, for what I've seen, also an incredible travel experience.
Kyrgyzstan is my next, early december, and a really welcomed 90th flag.

Flights to Socotra may resume soon, which should allow a safe visit to Yemen.

Rumors are that Saudi Arabia may introduce tourist visas next year.

Yeah, Syria looks tough. Might have to save that for near the very end. But I'd like to get some friends to join me in the last country, and they won't come to Syria.

Don't miss the Obama cafe in Bishkek!

I just reviewed my list. I'd hit 19 by age eleven. I was 58 when Japan took me to my current total of 23.

Assuming these two things happen, I'll be doing them in July. I mean, July in Saudi Arabia sounds delightful, right?
