OH - CLE used to be an actual hub for Continental and I think they had some intra-state flights. KY - Similarly, CVG was a Delta hub and they had a pretty extensive regional network via Comair. |
just last month I did SEA<>GEG on the retirement flight of the Alaska (Horizon) Dash 8-400
in chronological order here are my first interstate legs:

For a giggle I thought I'd map out my internal flights within Alaska, not counting numerous air taxi and charter flights. Here's the map -

Flew r/t FAT-VIS (on return was only pax). 13 minutes wheels up to wheels down.
LAX-VIS wasn't much longer. Does UX still serve VIS? It was an E120 t-prop from LAX. |

Also, fun fact, Delaware didn't have service until Avelo started flights on 2/1/23 after Frontier pulled out during Covid

CA, TX, WA, HI, OH. Trying to think if a flight I took in/out of TUS began/ended in PHX on US a few years back. David |

This topic actually came up on another forum that I post on. At the time when I looked it up (about a year ago), this is a list of how many commercial scheduled flights operated intra-state:
AK - 191 CA - 69 TX - 53 FL - 21 HI - 16 CO - 11 MI - 10 NY - 8 IL, MN, NC, PA, WA - 7 GA, VA - 6 AZ, MA, MT - 5 OR - 4 UT - 3 MO, NM - 2 ID, NV, ND, RI, WV - 1 AL, AR, CT, DE, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MS, NE, NH, NJ, OH, OK, SC, SD, TN, VT, WI, WY - 0 And for my travels, I've flown: AK: ANC-FAI (UA) AZ: PHX-TUS (HP) CA: LAX-SFO (UA) and STS-LAX (UA) FL: JAX-TPA (3M) MN: MSP-DLH (DL) NC: CLT-RDU (US) UT: SGU-SLC (DL) VA: IAD-ORF (UA) https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...2cb55011a6.png Has there EVER been a scheduled commercial flight within Delaware? |
This is interesting - I think my list is as follows:
|
Several people have mentioned flights from VA airports to IAD. However, DCA is actually in Virginia as well. I've done RIC to IAD, ORF to IAD, and ORF to DCA.

Wilmington/ILG had service from Eastern (1960s - 70s) and United (~1983-84); not sure who if anybody may have preceded Frontier, but I seem to recall that their inaugural was quite a big thing because the state hadn’t had much if any service for many years
