If the VPN companies in question don't conduct business in the countries they boast about, their effective legal exposure is typically quite low, and the same goes for the vloggers as long as they don't attempt to enter those countries.

HOWEVER, advertising that your service is a good way to circumvent censorship actions in counrty x, is often a passport for your service to be completely unusable in country x. (Reliable commercial VPNs tend to avoid fanning those flames.)

I really enjoy aviation and take the odd picture of a rare or exotic aircraft for my collection, but vloggers are really quite tedious. I cannot enjoy yet another view of an Airbus wing on take off. And with the consolidation of the airline and supplier industry, it would seem there is very little variety out there, so the difference between an AA and a UA business class meal is academic. Rain pelting down on a wing on finals in Kazakhstan is not too different to the same in Glasgow or Huntsville. Same with reverse thrust - the engine doesn't play the national anthem of the country it lands in.
Most vloggers seem to use the medium to show off, with the content and the airlines being the props for their ego - 'I am amazing because i am sitting in a really expensive seat', or 'I am intrepid as I sit on some beat-up curious airline in some potentially dangerous corner of the globe'. Either way, they all seem to try to outbid each other with their self-obsession. But that's all a social media thing anyway.

I sort of like the "beat up corners of the world" variety in small doses, to the extent that I can even endure watching guys like Cahill do really stupid or obnoxious things.

Some of it is also for bragging rights... For example, Nonstop Dan posted a video recently "around the world in business"... Most people can't even consider that, especially now. But he decided to post this... and that's supposed to make people feel better?

I'm 90% sure that that Nonstop Dan video is just him recycling old videos for content and clicks.

Things vloggers think I'm interested in..... but really I'm not
  • Air vents - I'm really not altering my travel plans based on whether or not an aircraft has air vents
  • Where couples should and should not sit - I understand Seat Guru (I get it, steer the couples to the middle seats so you are more likely to get your window seat)
  • USB sockets, plug sockets, sturdiness of tables etc - again I'm not picking a flight based on how the table folds out or whether the USB socket is in a cubby hole or next to a screen
  • How long it takes cabin crew to answer the call button - they let you on the plane early, they know who you are - just because they got to you in 8.3 seconds doesn't mean I will be get the same attention
  • The spool up and takeoff
  • Most don't do this, but overly serious contemplation whilst tasting the food dished up - usually in F
  • "Merch" with their name on it
What I do like to see - the real experience, particularly in the wilder parts. If travelling in Y, let's queue to check in, let's queue for security, lets' try and find somewhere to sit and eat that isn't on the floor. You're not doing Y if you check in at the First Class Zone, use Fast Track Security and then spend 2 hours in the First Class Lounge drinking Whispering Angel before boarding in Group 1.

Other useful stuff:
Time keeping, things you booked being delivered (i.e. did you get your book the cook meal) , what you actually paid for the ticket - don't pretend it's a £10,000 F ticket if you (1) either paid £45 quid in fees and charges with a few million points through Credit Card chicanery that 95% of people just don't have the time or Credit Score to attempt

Now that would be an interesting innovation! Might entice me to watch vloggers.....:D

Not on a plane, but I was once sitting in a geothermal hot spring in a remote part of Iceland that I had taken a plane, a long drive, and a ferry to get to—an amazingly tranquil and serene spot on the edge of the world, sitting in this steaming mineral pool on a cliff facing the endless cold blue gray sea, I sat in awe at the utter desolate wonder, trying to soak in the beauty and the entire time this vlogger wouldn't shut up. Not just the vlogger though. Maybe ten people in the hot spring, all talking loudly or on their phones, no one in the moment or appreciating the majesty.

I finally asked all these random strangers for their attention and then asked if they would all mind if we just sat in silence for a minute or two to actually take in where we were.

They did it. Even the Vlogger. But it was very awkward. Afterward the talking was quiter though. And the vlogger stopped vlogging.

But if one couldn't even find peace and quiet all the way out there then what hope does anyone have of a peaceful commercial flight?

Save up for that gulf stream charter—no vloggers allowed!

Every time I see a Josh Cahill video on yt I comment on it. "My God! Another flight where you were victimized!" You are SO BRAVE, Josh! Every one of his uploads is about how he was tortured, taken apart, and put together again WITHOUT EVEN AN UPGRADE! I say basta to oiks...

I commented on one of his vids that it was all about his hair and nothing else.

I am unable to give my opinion as the terms and conditions of this good site prevent the use of strong language

In substitution, I shall go "Oh, golly gosh..."

I wonder if the FAs ever are tempted to call the flight deck and see if the plane can "encounter some unexpected rough air" when stuff like this happens.

Potential safety risk, need to divert, please have LEOs and medical staff on-board. (and someone to "bump" the camera-person would be nice).

Depending on the airline and jurisdiction, could be a violation of privacy laws as well.
