How about those bathrooms that have only a light, not a fan?!?!? Or, maybe worse but not sure: a light and noisy fan on one switch, so when you just want the light on, the noisy fan goes on and now you can't hear the television news...sigh... What ever happened to a light on one switch and a fan on the other
Or hotel location? Just returned from a mini-getaway where my room one night was within throwing distance of a very busy highway and, worse yet, the exit ramp. Absolutely no reason a Hampton should have been built there. Hotel was full so couldn't switch the room, so maybe got a total of 1 hour sleep (trucks, trucks, trucks!)

Hotel was full? I think you just answered your own question.

I leave it up as a treat. It signifies two things. I can watch what i want on TV, and can drink beer in bed.
However I do pu it down when I have company. They play hard to get if thier nice little butt touches porcelain.

I just stayed in a Hilton where I could not turn the light next to the bed OFF .... I finally had to unplug it! This was a new one for me. I wonder what the next person that rented the room thought.
ditto on the alarm clock in the next room, used coffee pack, scaring myself with the mirror and remote control thing. argghhhHHH!

i remember when you used to be able to stay in a hotel room without hearing the person in the next room talk, sneeze, cough and, uh, you know.
so i guess my pet peeve is paper thin walls.

Grrr... nothing like checking in at night, your room is dark and the lightswitch isn't anywhere close to where you'd think it should be.

When the "Guest Services" button on the phone puts you in touch with someone else's room...At about midnight when calling for a wake-up call. The guy on the other end didn't sound so happy with me, and I don't think he wanted to give me a wake-up call.

Just stayed at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Paid over $200 per night. They have the nerve to ask for $4.95 a day to use the in-room safe! I thought only the real low end motels did this.

1. A hotel that doesn't heat or cool the hallways - especially one at the level of a Hilton.
2. A hotel at the level of a Hilton 'fixes' the air conditioning controls so that you can't turn the dial past 7 for cooler air (it goes up to 10 - I guess this is their response to not charging an energy surcharge).
3. A front desk SUPERVISOR that doesn't know how to put in your rental car information, or anything else that has to do with your program profile.
4. A hotel at the level of a Hilton or Doubletree that has stains on the carpet, wallpaper peeling off, holes in the sheets, no fitted sheet on the mattress or burn holes in the blankets.
5. Dirty shower curtains that blow in on you (at any hotel level!).
6. Hotels that want you to stay at their chain, promise you certain amenities when you reach certain levels, then having to fight for those amenities that are supposed to just be offered to you.
