CoMETS was developed on a Mac. It works on Macs and on those other computers.

Thanks for the tool. Any way to put a surface sector/open jaw into the itinerary?

I think flying fish with the newer improvements has comets beat. But both choices are good.

The mileage between BKK and KUL seems off by about 27 miles. Are you using the coordinate of the old Don Meuong Airport (now DMK) instead of the new Suvarnabhumi Airport? They are about that far apart.

Merry Christmas

Getting back on the coding horse...Flying Fish is definitely coming to the iPhone and iPad!

Also here's the rollup of recent 'problem' airport codes:

PNH
UBP
HDY
BKK
NBO

Keep 'em coming! Please see the first post of this thread for the details...and iFish (or something) is on its way...

Hi,

WAW-FRA is reported as being 5089 miles apart, which is clearly an error.
FRA-LIS is reported as 3772 miles apart - other error

The trip WAW-FRA-LIS-MPM is shown on FLyingFish at a total of 33294 miles.
In webflyer, it displays at around 7000 miles.

Is FLyingFish travelling the globe the other way ?

So glad to hear you're working on Flying Fish for IOS. I love the free program you wrote for us so long ago, but I want you to know I would gladly pay for the app. There really is nothing else like FF and making it mobile will benefit many of us here as well as many others who have not yet discovered FF.

I'd also like to volunteer as a tester should you need any more candidates.

pjso,

I believe this is due to the localization settings on your PC. I get reasonable values for these routes. Fortunately we've seen this before and it's not difficult to correct:

Option 1: Open the ARPT.dat file with a text-editor (I used Word2003) and select the "Replace with" function and then set it to replace all "." with ",". That solved the problem for me.

Option 2: In the contron panel under Windows XP you can change what formats windows uses, if you change this to English(USA) this will work, too. (Note: This will change all the formats on your computer, including dates, times, and this punctuation stuff)

Please let us know if this fixes it for you.

torrential - thank you for the kind words. As soon as I have a version worth field testing I'll be in touch!

Thanks for the heads-up.
My location settings are for Portugal in Win7.
I just edited the .dat file, and it is now working like a charm

Now a second question:
How to set fixed-mileage levels in Flyingfish.
For both WAW-FRA and FRA-LIS i am supposed to get 1250 miles, and not the 560 and 1165 actually flown miles.
Should I just compute them myself?
