Thanks for checking. The weird thing IMO is that for some flights the seat map is correctly displayed (incl. premium seats), but not for others which doesn´t make much sense IMO.

Why would award search for I fares on LOT return NO results (my example is Sept 26th) instead of 0's? I can't set up a fare alert without it. The flight exists and shows under general availability.

The airline controls how the award inventory is published, however you can still create a Flight Alert for the flight from the results page of the Flight Availability search or via the Create New Flight Alert page.

Class(es):
(limit 9)
First - Domestic complimentary upgrades for elites (RU)
First - Domestic upgrades using Miles or PMU/SWU certs (RP)
Business - Complimentary upgrades for elites (OU)
Business - Upgrades using Miles or PMU/SWU certs (OP)

If you want DL operated flights, EF doesn't have access to award inventory. However, EF does show award inventory for certain partners such as AF class O (which is likely to be zero) and others. You need to search them individually or sometime on the partner's own websites, but the latter is likely to show award inventory only available to their own elites or using their own miles, not DL miles.

Hi ExpertFlyer,

I just started using EF today and am very impressed so far.

I do have a question though; if the "available classes" draws a blank, then I assume that means that no seats are available for award travel? See picture below.

Although the seat map shows many seats available, I'm assuming the airline hasn't released them yet for award bookings?

Thanks!

Thank you drzoidberg! In this case the flight is blanked because it's a codeshare flight. If you want to search for award options for multiple Star Alliance airlines, choose the "Star Alliance" airline in the award search.

Thanks ExpertFlyerVoice.

Is the implication that I would be unable to redeem frequent flyer miles (say USDM) on a codeshare flight?

You can't redeem on a flight as a codeshare, however you can redeem on the flight when searching based either on the operating carrier or using the Star Alliance award search.

Please email us the specifics of your search to [email protected] so we can help you, thanks.

I may be wrong, but it does not seem it has been fixed. For *A customers, it is indeed a big bug. Relying on a "powerful tool" that does not work can be misleading.

We didn't say it was yet. We will push out an update probably later this week or early next week. The functionality of the search won't change, you just won't see those fields anymore for certain *A airlines, that's all. Until then just ignore those fields for any *A airline that requires a Quantity specified in the search.

*Update - May 16 - the fix for this issue has been released.

I set some seat alerts the other day for my NCE-JFK flight in Delta Economy Comfort. Haven't got any notices yet, but then I checked Delta.com's seat map anyway, and there was a seat that I had an alert set for, wide open. Never got a notice. Annoying because this is basically the main reason I got ExpertFlyer to begin with.

As noted at the top of the Seat Map page for a DL seat Map:

Economy Comfort seats will always be shown as Blocked or Occupied regardless of actual status.
Therefore a Seat Alert for those seats will never alert you to anything as DL doesn't share the true status of those seats at this time.

Admittedly a slightly stupid question, but:

If I do an awards search, I set the number of seats to 2, I then see "yes" under availability in the results screen. That means that there are two seats on that flight that are able to be claimed? I suspect that that's the case, but I want to be sure :)

Yes, that is correct.
