I love the DirectV app. When I'm away, it's great being able to now record a TV show via my iPhone with this app.

Was is your favorite iPhone Travel app?
And why?
Mine is the FlightTracker Pro with Trippit, but it seems like it could do more. |

For flight stats, nothing beats just going to the carriers mobile Web site or mobile.flightstats.com. They have all the info I need, it is quick, looks good enough and it is by far the most up-to-day and accurate. I have to say though something that I think would be quite cool on the iPhone would be the KVS tool or something similarly powerful to look up fares and seat maps etc. |
sit and squat - where are the closest public toilets - unfortunately only works with new 3.0 OS :D

Great way to celebrate 40th Woodstock anniversary ^^^ |
I have to say Flight Control is still my favorite game on the iPhone you just get drawn into it whenever you play and its great for passing the time while traveling.
Anyways, I broke 100 on the aircraft carrier level. This is my new favorite level. It really is a lot of fun and it took me several tries though once I finally got decent at it I realized it rotates around as you go :) adds a little bit more to the game. Also OS3.0.1 is out and fixes a SMS vulnerability that was recently outed. Hopefully it also fixes some other problems I have been having with the phone in general. |

It's not a game but another app I like is "Around Me." It shows you where the closest restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, etc, are located. It's free. |

I made it to 219 on the aircraft carrier level.
I started using RedLaser all the time - it reads the UPC codes on boxes when you are at Best Buy or wherever and price-compares it online to Amazon and a bunch of other places. Helped stop impulse-buys in the electronics department. "Receipts" is also cool - take a picture of your receipt and it automatically crops it and assembles it into an expense report you can email yourself in .PDF format. Just having the copies of the receipts along is worth it and it works great. |
I just downloaded Dopplr, a so-called "Social Atlas" that really just overlays restaurant, hotel and tourist attraction locations and ratings on a map.
It's a slick little app with an eye-pleasing interface. I am an Urbanspoon fan, but sometimes you just want something "good enough" and close by, with the emphasis on the latter. Urbanspoon doesn't let you search that way AFAIK. Two things I quickly noticed about Dopplr - I can't figure out how to add restaurants I like that are not currently plotted, and whoever provides their maps (it's not Google) plots the locations of popular coffee and restaurant chains right on the map, which is helpful in itself if you are a Starbucks fan and are too cheap to buy a dedicated Starbucks app. |

Urbanspoon doesn't let you search that way AFAIK. The largest problem I have then is that if I am looking for something quick and cheap for lunch I really want one or two $ signs. Though I just lock it in on one and click spin. Then it comes up with Starbucks -- no good. So spin again, McDonalds -- ugh. Spin again, Burger King --. Spin again, fun place I have never heard of -- oooh lets check this out... oh it 10 miles away, no good. And on and on. If you go through and browse what is nearby and not do the slot machine setup I have actually found a couple of fun place. |
My favorite app is the soon-to-exist FlyerTalk app :D
|
Soon-to-exist or already-existing?
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/sugge...t12777364.html Maybe you can help clear it up... |
