I didn't see it mentioned upthread, but I'm giving virtualpostmail.com a shot, the site seems pretty slick and if you use the promo codes the prices aren't all that bad. Will still be half of what I was paying ECM and the forward shipping looks much more reasonable. Might be worth a look for anybody else in the market.
Are you satisified with VirtualPostMail? I like their prices and site interface...what about the service?

eastbiz,
I'm looking for a forwarding service to Australia.
Have you got much business from Australia, and have there been any reported issues with the process?
Thanks!

For example a magazine can be shipped from U.S.A. anywhere in the world for $2.65 in postage.

FedEx rates are with huge discount. Please try to compare as the saving is often half off. http://www.shipito.com/calculator

We even have USPS rates with discounts - cheaper than at the post office

There are several shipping methods offered. So you can choose what is the best for you.

Consolidation is $2 for two packages, $4 for three packages.. cap at $8.50 for as many packages (in case you have a lot of small things to ship).

Our fee $8.50 for mail out (consolidated package or individual).
Letter or magazine fast mail out option for $1 only + postage.

Thumbs up Top Three Mail Forwarding services in USA

Based on US consumer reviews of these mail forwarding agents, here are the top three, they rate them based on quality of service, speed of shipping and value for the money:

1- Myuspostoffice.com Plans start at $79.99 / Year.
2- Myus.com pLans start at $199.99
3- Getmyusmail.com Plans start at $179.99

  • forwarding to international address, including aggregating several items into one package
  • ability to accept shipping of online orders (so not a PO Box) and forwarding to international address

I have found the following, among many, which seems the best value for money:
http://www.usglobalmail.com
http://www.earthclassmail.com
http://www.bongous.com

Does anyone have experience with any of the above or others they can talk about?

I should also mention that Earthclass mail is now no longer willing to offer my current plan of service, only offering a more expensive plan WITH LESS FEATURES when I have to renew at the end of my 2 year period (in about a year...I spoke to them on the phone recently).

I do thank them for coming here and explaining their service, but do want to warn fellow FT'ers of my experience with them.

To offer a service at a price, then to up that price after getting established with the service is typical bait-and-switch tactic, and I don't appreciate it.

I have used Mailbox Forwarding for several months. They do a good job, but it is very basic service. Every envelope is scanned (you have a monthly allocation, then pay for more). You choose whether to scan, shred, or forward, and you can select multiple items to forward in a single shipment at cost + a $.75 processing fee per item. That's really about it. For $9.95 a month, it's perfect for me because I don't have a lot of volume.

My biggest complaint is they don't always enter the sender's info, so it just says "Unknown" and you have to go into the envelope scan to see who it is from. I can see if it was a handwritten envelope, but if it says CapitalOne in big letters there's no excuse.

Rated by whom? Do you have a link?

Has anyone heard of these mail forwarding companies before? I've been researching this for a while and I've never heard of these three.

The first and third are registered to the same company (Neighborhood Parcel LLC) in Massachusetts. The second one is registered to Access USA Shipping in Florida.

Magazine forwarding services

I have been using Shipitto.com for a few months for forwarding of US magazines internationally. The prices are pretty reasonable at $2.65 + $1 per magazine, but have found that they have tended to charge 2 or 3 times per item. Does anybody know of any other similar services that I could look at specifically for magazine forwarding from the US internationally?

wiki reference

There is a very useful wiki page that lists and compares all mail forwarding services that also offer a scanning service.

Mail Forwarding and related services

I have been using Earth Class Mail for two years but my two year contract is expiring this month. I was glad to find this thread, as it has helped me research for alternatives to ECM.

Why? Well, ECM is outrageously expensive now. I had been paying 9.99 a month, but for the same services I would expect to spend about 27-30 dollars a month.

I could see if it went up 5-7 bucks, but the way they have priced everything, there is no way I'm sticking around.

Through some phone calls and research on places with the help of other posters I have found 1 good, viable low cost alternative. I'm not going to go over every detail for every plan, you guys can do that. But after looking at Zumbox, US Global Mail, Mail Link Plus, Bongo and Virtual Post mail, it seems VPM is the best choice for cost and services. I should note, that My RV Mail seems promising. US GM charges a ton for scanning (3.00 each plus .50 per page!) and Mail Link Plus, as far as I can tell, doesn't have an advanced scanning option. Zumbox is more of a capture service, and anyone who is mailing something has to sign up with THEM, and then your mail is viewable online. Its a superb idea and is ultimately where mail is heading, I think, but not enough business are signed up for the model yet. Bongo's prices are in line with ECM's. So again, that leaves VPM. Most important to me, is my ability to scan and shred and do it all online and see my results online.

VPM seems reasonable and I would expect that my costs would be about 12-14 a month, for nearly the same services I had with ECM. Their basic plan is 9.99 a month but it only includes 3 scans. However, additional scans are .99 each up to ten pages. I scan about 5-7 things a month and that is where I get 12-14 dollars from. They have a bunch of different plans but all plans for most places center around 4 things
1. how many mail pieces you are allowed to receive before going "over"
2. how many scans you are allotted per month
3. # of recipients
4. Storage length
5. shredding
6. storage length

Before I sign up with VPM, I am going to check them out on BBB and then give RV a call too. Hope this helps someone!

Mail forwarding

It’s been a while since we have posted to this thread, but we thought that some great points were made by jonatbaylor and wanted to make sure that everyone understood our new philosophy.

Earth Class Mail started with a single product. A one size fits all mail scanning service. But along the way we realized two things: it’s really expensive to provide that service and we were losing money at it. We also realized that not everyone wants their mail opened and scanned, even though they really like having choices about what to do with their mail.

So we raised our prices to stay in business, and created a la carte plans so that people could pay for only what they needed. As jonatbaylor correctly states, when you don’t get much mail and want to basically throw it away or scan it, we are not the cheapest alternative. If you want a broad address network, or to use our application to manage your mail work flow, or rely on live customer support, then we still believe we are the best value for your money. But if you are a low volume self-serve customer who just wants mail scans, then we might not be for you.

That's why we changed our focus to the small business customer. Small businesses get more mail, less of it is advertising mail, and handling it costs them time and money. They make the choices about what services they want, and we do the work. We are providing strong ROI for thousands of small business around the world.

But we didn’t want to leave our low volume consumer customers in the lurch, so we created a new mail forwarding product. You get our Beaverton street address for free, you ship your items to you, or anyone else you want to, and you only pay to ship what it is important to you. It’s cheaper for us to serve you without opening and scanning your mail, so we pass that savings along to you.

We hope you will check out our new mail forwarding plan and see if that might meet your needs.

I also send them lots of packages.

Their forwarding to France and/or Brazil is reasonably priced.

The specialists that have cropped up since I began this have all either seemed questionable or not had the features I wanted. In the end, knowing my UPS Store people seems to be a decent solution to the problem, but not perfect.

I'll be interested in a comprehensive review of options.
Hi jbcarioca,

Any suggestions on parcel forwarding services in Brazil? I'm having the darndest time finding one. Just want to buy something from an online retailer in Brazil, but they do not ship internationally.
