Music Player App with Compander Function?

Does anyone know of an Android app for playing music that can compress the volume range? That is sometimes call a "compander", which means compress/expand.

My noise cancelling over-the-ear headphones cut out the low pitch noise during flights, but not the constant higher pitch sound of air rushing over the plane. This constant sound tends to block the softer sounds of songs. I can turn the volume up on my music app to hear the soft passages, or can turn it down to protect my ears from the loud ones...but I'd like a music app that would do this automatically for me.

Are there any Android music players with that capability?

Thank you.

I use Musicolet. It is super-simple and I'm not a fussy listener and sound quality isn't number 1 for me, so it may not be right for others. It doesn't officially have a compander, but the equalizer (which I have never used, but might now!) sounds like it might do what you are asking for. I don't think that it will compress the volume, but you can have it get rid of certain frequency ranges if that is the issue.

Yes. Foobar2000 can handle that and much more. In all honesty, if you are not using Foobar as a main player you are limiting your options. Install Foobar, then install the VST 2.x/3.x adapter from the download page and then add in the Compander plug-in you like. TBH, the player itself will likely not need that level of tweaking although it is very doable.

I appreciate the replies. I don't think an ordinary equalizer can do what I'm asking for.

I installed Foobar2000 and within just a couple of taps I was stuck on a page with no way out...even if I Quit the app and re-started it...so I've Uninstalled it. (I told the app that I already had music on my phone, but did not ask Foobar2000 to scan it before continuing to the next page...which became the page with no way out.)

Are there other suggestions for a music app with compander capabilities?

On your phone, turn off the setting that allows external devices to automatically start playing music, or similar setting. Thats not a Foobar problem. Thats a settings problem. Its definitely an audiophile app with a fairly steep learning curve. If the files to be played are not fairly high-res (FLAC or better) a simpler app might be more appropriate. VLC is a fairly good option I would think..jetAudio also seems to get high marks from android users.
