All speculation aside regarding high usage risking cancellation, the subject of this post is the 256kbps data roaming. Who here thinks T-Mobile will activate their "Black Ops" team for this? I personally think those on either the 128k, or 256kbps will draw a pass on the excess data 51% rule. I suppose if you never use data except while overseas it could happen, but who does that?
sau54,
You could just run up your data usage when you return to the US to balance out the overseas amount. Heck, I've ran some zippy speedtests that used over 1Gb in one test on 5G.

The basic Ookla Speedtest.net will log over 1Gb of data used if you are on a 5G phone in a 5Guc tower. I have used up to 4Gb in just a few minutes running a few consecutive tests at my gym, which gets speeds of 500-700Mbps down. I keep a free unlimited line in the data position to preserve my $10 a month Kickback on my main voice line. I have 4 esims in my phone currently with 2 always active. iPhone 14 Pro Max with Xfinity/Verizon, FlexiroamX/AT&T, and 2 of my 12 lines for T-Mobile as daily drivers.

My non Magenta plan gave me 5 GB of high speed in Italy last month.
It lasted me about 7-10 days and I wasn't even trying to use it that much.
Best deal I ever had was about 10-15 years ago, one summer, T-Mobile let you have high-speed roaming. So I happened to be taking a trip to Greece at the time and I used a lot of data on that trip.

Is it possible to see how much data I've used abroad and domestically? I logged into my TMO account and it seems like data usage are all lumped together.
What's the best deal on TMO now? I guess being new I missed out on even better plans in the past. Besides the senior and military discount, is it possible to further bring down Magenta and Magenta Max plans such as retention for single lines?

I recall that just a couple of years ago. It was in the past 5 years, perhaps during the Covid Panic. Glad you got the benefits but I don't think T-Mobile had any free roaming data, high or low speed that long ago. Seems like they began that around late 2013 because that's when I began using my Brother In Laws plan for travel.
Are you using the website? Is it any different from the app? I guess I could run it non-stop and use a lot of data.

I'd say some of the best deals on T-Mobile currently are on the MAX plans that include a free line and high trade in values for phone purchases and getting the Insider Discount on the account.

I use the App on my phones or iPads. You can check data usage for recent tests within the App by tapping the 3 short bars in the upper right of the test screen. I found one cellular test from 8/17 reading 573 down=863MB used, so it is not a direct relationship apparently. This may be due to packet loss, but I don't know. I have had some with use exceed 1GB used on cellular.

What is the Insider Discount and how do I get it?
Thank you.

Yes, T-Mobile customer service reps via Twitter, online or on the phone are fantastic. However some questions asked here can be answered with a simple Google search. The current insider deal ended August 24
