I use the App on my phones or iPads. You can check data usage for recent tests within the App by tapping the 3 short bars in the upper right of the test screen. I found one cellular test from 8/17 reading 573 down=863MB used, so it is not a direct relationship apparently. This may be due to packet loss, but I don't know.
