Glad you got the benefits but I don't think T-Mobile had any free roaming data, high or low speed that long ago. Seems like they began that around late 2013 because that's when I began using my Brother In Laws plan for travel.

I use the App on my phones or iPads. You can check data usage for recent tests within the App by tapping the 3 short bars in the upper right of the test screen. I found one cellular test from 8/17 reading 573 down=863MB used, so it is not a direct relationship apparently. This may be due to packet loss, but I don't know. I have had some with use exceed 1GB used on cellular.
I'd say some of the best deals on T-Mobile currently are on the MAX plans that include a free line and high trade in values for phone purchases and getting the Insider Discount on the account.
