When you enable the international data pack, is it activated immediately or can you set a future date? Would I need to wait until the day of my outbound flight to activate it?

From the FAQ
Does this also apply to tablet only accounts (no phone plan) which starts at $20/mo? According to the FAQ, the mobile internet plans are eligible. $25 for 300MB/1 week on demand isn't bad but post pay $20/mo might work out better for frequent travelers if slower speeds are acceptable most of the time. Post-pay should qualify for corporate discounts. Not sure if on demand passes qualify for corporate discounts? Also hope they clarify if the international on demand packs can be added to the 200 MB free tablet data #UnleashTheTablet offer since it isn't a post pay plan. There's a thread on T-Mobile work discounts here: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...6#post15184446 Or try your corporate e-mail address here: http://business.t-mobile.com/advantage Hmmmm; this is interesting as posted; so far in discussion with CSR's HOTSPOTS are NOT eligible for intl roaming simple choice 128Kb free - Tablets may be... If someone wants to report results :)

Can you give more details on this Verizon MiFi? With T-Mo's phone over WiFi, that should be an excellent solution for the extreme case where one travels where there's really no good T-Mo coverage.
You can buy it at Walmart (not always at Target) Data is as follows: $15 250MB (expires in one week), $60 3GB (expires in one month) - also a higher 10GB plan. Again if I do this I only EVER do the $60 plan if it's a few days ; just one day I do the $15 plan. Great backup |
Can you put ur tablet sim card in your iphone? :)

I'm on the T-mobile grandfather plan(not eligible for international roaming), and will be travelling abroad from Nov 8th to December 3rd to Cambodia, Thailand, Macao, Hong Kong, and China.
I would like international roaming whether its 2G or 3G. Option 1. Buy $25 300MB/weekly pass(1-3 times), it would be 3G data Use Family Allowance to set my text/minute limit to 0 to ensure I'm not getting any texts or calls, but while I'm roaming.. I don't know if that will work. Option 2. Open a simple choice single line plan $50 plus taxes/fees and close at the end of the month Option 3. Open a mobile data plan(for tablet only?) for $20 a month for 500mb, which allows unlimited international roaming. Pop the sim card in my iPhone and use it abroad? The 3rd option seems like the cheapest and least hassle way to get on internet abroad... I'd appreciate any feedback especially using a tablet data plan on an iphone... |

How much is your current plan? What options do you have? Separate data plans are no longer required. if you're currently paying for an iPhone data plan you may find the new plan costs less. I have four lines on my current plan and saved a L:pT of money by switching to one of the new plans.
9.99 Unlimited Family Text 4.99 AAL(x2) 5.99 Tzone 15.00 BTV Data 4.5 GB (tether) 0.00 Family Allowance 0.00 MyFaves 0.00 Cel Fi 2 Booster ---- 91.00 -15 Loyalty Discount -10 Corporate Discount So my current plan is actually alot cheaper than simple choice, I'm waiting for T-mobile to mail me the letter out to give me the offer to convert since they are eliminating the grandfather plans. |

Total cost with taxes: $144.xx per month. No contract commitment, can cancel at anytime. |

Yes, they are offering different tier of discounts for grandfather plans... much better than the publicly offered price. Some got offered even more discount on top of the discount plans they are offering to grandfather accounts.

It seems like you should able to use tablet sim card on smart phones but not advertised or encouraged, I'll stop by a T-mobile store to find out. (but using phone sim on tablet is disabled by some Carrier because you could rack up alot more data on tablet especially if you're on unlimited data) |
The 20 cents per minute calls while outside of US .... do you have to make the call over wifi or over cellular (2G/3G)?

If on WiFi Calling while abroad... * Calls back to the US - free * Calls to within the country you're in - $0.20/min * Calls to other countries - not sure If on another cellular network abroad... * Calls back to the US - $0.20/min * Calls to within the country you're in - $0.20/min * Calls to other countries - not sure |
I just added an Simple Choice Mobile Broadband line, it cost me $20($10 credit if you have voice) per month for 500MB plan(unlimited but throttles)
I just pop the sim card on iPhone and it works great. I confirmed with T-mobile rep you can roam for free internationally, it's great for those who are on grandfather plans that have not made the switch. You can not make calls but you can receive/send messages unlimited. T-mobile Store employees said they were told it wouldn't work, Sales, Activation, and Customer Retention all have told me it won't work. I guess no one educated them on this. Free roaming next week :)
