In airport in Taipei using the Simple Choice int'l data roaming.
Phone camped on Chunghwa. Data indicator shows 3G/H/H+. Speeds are clearly throttled but it does work. I agree with a previous poster that throttled HSPA is far better than being limited to a physical 2G connection... This is pretty damned awesome. Upon registering on the network I got 3 texts welcoming me to Taiwan and summarizing usage costs. Nice touch, though the data pack link doesn't work right, so still some kinks to work out. I'm not sure how I could actually buy a data pack... calling back to TMO is a pain. Phones are TMO-branded Lumia 925, and open-market Lumia 920. Thailand up next. |

FWIW, I had no problems at all recently in Panama or Colombia. Pretty awes:cool:me is right!

Question for those who have used the throttled data. was it sufficient /adequate?

I read the first few pages of the thread and the last few but couldn't find any comments about: do we need to be on T-Mobiles network to enjoy this new freedom? I just landed in the UK today and from my current location I can see: O2, Vodaphone, EE, 3 and I occasionally see t-mobile...so will I get nailed (with roaming fees) unless I lock on to t-mobiles network?

TMobile's press announcement said that if your local network wasn't included in their global roaming solution, by default you would not get data and that you had to text something to override that.

Let your phone pick whatever network it wants and you'll be fine. |

We have one device with a coworker right now that I turned on 300MB of data two days ago; he is working fine with it.
PLEASE read me above info as the new site isn't fully provisioned to charge for data; the OLD site above WILL do it (see the steps once logged in to go to the old URL) I'm not sure on connect to my-tmobile.com for free... un-sure was going to try on my device this weekend when I head to Japan/Korea - will post Sunday night what I find. |

For the UK, you can use EE, Hutchinson (3), and Vodaphone. |
T Mobile Global data coverage
My colleagues is currently in Bangkok and he said his handset (Nexus 4) registered with DTAC and oddly he was getting 128kbps DOWN, but almost 2.3Mbps UP.
Not sure why he was seeing such high upload speeds, maybe something was screwey with DTAC or T-Mobile did something wrong. Dan |

Or maybe T-Mobile is only capping speeds downstream? can anyone confirm with speedtests what is it you are getting?
and 40K up/20K near Luton. |
I'd love to hear some ping time. Fast throttled bandwith is different than EDGE.

well just bought a SIM for a day trip to Toronto & will use it in Santiago and Sicily later this month. will tack on a $10 plan for my wife's Nexus 7 for the latter two. want to see if it's functional enough to blow off chasing down SIMs abroad.
