Thanks! Just got one.

I'd have bought two, but the quantity limit was 1. :(

What did you end up buying and where? Thanks
Dave

This might be of interest. There is a car charger of the same output as well.

I have been looking for the same thing lately. I would like at least 4 ports with the ability to charge at least 1 if not 2 ipads at the same time.

Currently I use a Belkin Mini Surge Protector with 2 ports built in. I also carry 6' cables from amazon(bluecell) to keep everything plugged in and reachable no matter where the outlet is located.

I have two iPhones(work & personal), iPad(3rd gen), and a sprint overdrive hotspot. I would love to only carry the outlet and cords. My problem with the belkin is that the usb ports wont charge an ipad, so I carry around a block.

I am looking for something similar that will limit how many cords and other crap I carry in my bag every week when I travel.

The bigger bulky item like this U2H4BC07 would be great for putting under or behind a night stand for at home but not feasible for the road.

I hope someone has found a solution to this in a compact portable device. I look forward to seeing other options people have done.

There was some talk that they'd increase the output of USB 3.0 ports.

Even one proposal about being able to charge laptops through USB 3.

Perhaps some USB 3 hubs will be able to charge multiple mobile devices including big tablets.

My USB 3.0 ports on my latest notebook do in fact charge Ipads and the like at the proper 2.1 Amps.

I use two Griffin PowerBlocks; it's nice sometimes to be able to plug these into outlets in different locations, and they're compact enough. No problems charging an iPad and iPhone simultaneously.

There are mixed reviews as it appears that some people get ones that are only 500mA; as one person's picture shows, you want the 1A version (buy it from Amazon as the seller).

I use the Targus dual port USB charger. It's only dual port, but both are 2A. Charges iPad 2, nook color, iPhones, etc. with no problem.

I have this one:

http://www.amazon.com/IPAD-2USB-i-Tr.../dp/B001QVHO38

Mine has different branding on it. The model number on mine is: YC-F0002-034

100-240v. 2-amps.

Works great. Sorry--don't remember where I bought it.

Do you think this one would be tough enough to cope with bending the plug points?

I'd mostly use this in Australia, and in the past have twisted/bent the pins about 45 degrees so they fit in our sockets. Some plugs are fine with it, others not so. (I do it carefully, and with bracing on the base unit - not just grab and brute force the thing)

Not a chance. The plastic would just break.

Try one of these -

I use one of these to recharge both an iPad 3 and iPhone 4s without any issues, also handy for the road trips to the US as I can just throw on a pin changer and it does power for the laptop too.

A little tangential, but this was an interesting article about the quality of Apple's iPhone charger: http://www.arcfn.com/2012/05/apple-i...n-quality.html

I purchased a cable for my PSP so I can charge it using USB. My phone, GPS and media player uses USB charging. My laptop and camcorder are the only two devices I can't charge using USB today. My camcorder doubles as my HD video and still camera. I carry the Belkin 3 outlet - 2 USB power strip. One thing to be careful is watch the current output of the AC to USB adapter, some of the cheap ones only allow 100ma draw. This will slow your charging time. The Belkin's two USB ports provides 500ma. I have seen some AC to USB as high as 1500ma.
