It will trickle charge, it just takes longer. I can plug my iPad into my regular USB port on my laptop and leave it there when I go to bed and it is fully charged in the morning.

16 usb ports, each one at 2.1 amps. They are building other configurations too. That should keep you happy for a while http://ipadcarts.com/images/DS-IP-PP16%20d.jpg Though $700 plus may be a few dollars above what you were looking for. http://cambrionix.com also makes a 16 port and higher configurations. |

This is still 525mA per port - 2.1A for all four ports.
One nice feature of this product is that the detachable plug adapters use a "figure 8" socket, which means a standard cord can be used instead of the supplied adapters. This is useful if the power outlet is inconveniently located, and can be cheaply replaced while travelling. As a practical matter I would not travel with a single USB power supply because I would be out of business if it failed or was left behind. I carry the small 1A adapter that came with my phone in addition to the multiport charger. Typically I use the 1A charger for the iPad, and the multiport for whatever else I have. Yes, a 1A charger works fine with the iPad. |

Hah, how about a 4 port version? :)
This is still 525mA per port - 2.1A for all four ports. :( I have a couple of the two port chargers for my set up. That way the kids can find their own outlet, and let my wife and I alone. |
possible answer
Found this thread while looking for a similar usb charger - wanted 4 usb outlets with 2.1 amps and needed 50/60hz and 120-240V for European travel. I did find a charger which meets the OP's requirements on amazon; the Scosche QUSBH4 reVIVE IV - 4-Port Usb charger. According to Scoshe's websitet it is a true 4x 1amp each port charger with 50hz/60hz and 120-240v compatibility. Now I'm debating on ordering it at a pricey ~25 versus two of the ~15 2x 2.1 amp per outlet chargers previously mentioned in the thread since it would be approximately the same price, but with redundancy and potentially more versatility with two units.

I'm looking for one that will charge the prime plus my phone.
I have a nice travel charger with 2 USB pots (the one which works in all countries) but it doesn't put out enough power for the tablet. |

Here is what I have:
2x 2.1A USB http://www.jr.com/xtrememac/pe/XXM_IPUIH211/ 2x USB 5Vx2.1A (shared, I think) + 3 power outlets: http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2 The combination gives me 4x USB, 2x 2.1A, not sure about the other two but at least 2x 1A, plus two extra outlets. I have been looking at the following Macally products: Non-grounded outlets plus USB hub; 4x USB of 1@ 2.1A. http://www.macally.com/EN/Product/Ar...?ArticleID=401 Hidden swivel plug 3x grounded power outlets, 2x USB (don't know the amperage/wattage) http://www.macally.com/EN/Product/ip...?ArticleID=391 Dual USB 10 watt (a.k.a. 2.1A) USB: http://www.macally.com/EN/Product/Ar...?ArticleID=326 Don't know if this is 2x 2.1A |
I just wanted to say thank you for the thread.
While I don't need 4 ports at high power it did let me rearrange my system to clear a USB port. I'm now running such a charger to provide the additional power a USB device needs. |
While not a four-port, here is a 3.1A, 2-port charger for $7...

I'd have bought two, but the quantity limit was 1. :( |
