OK, so I know sunset photos are overdone, yadda yadda.

But I've been on the road soooo much this year, that this one, from last year of a beautiful Winter's evening, is something I just need to look at now and then whilst I am in another airport, or another hotel...it's home...

Result of terminal boredom on a long-distance flight. Straight out of camera, technically crappy, but fun.

I have to be honest with everyone, this is the best forum here. To me it explains exactly why I travel, looking out an airplane window, hotel window, somewhere that I don't live makes me want to go somewhere else. Where's the credit card?

That's almost too hard to believe. I'm actually questioning it. Wow.

What is this a picture of? A close up of a cocktail?

Yes, actually.

It is an *extreme* closeup through a glass of cognac. The color comes from the liquor (Martell Cordon Bleu, good stuff), the big shapes from the bottom of the glass (Finnair uses funky Wirkkala glasses) and the texture from the linen napkin underneath. Because of low light I used high ISO, hence the graininess.

Life is full of fun and surprising details...

Cheers,
T.

On a 36-hr layover in Tokyo so went up to the Narita Temple this afternoon. As I mentioned on another thread, I imagine many many people pass through NRT annually not knowing that a quite wonderful resource is just minutes from the airport.
