Beautiful Images...Just Because

I couldn't find a thread that was tailored towards simply sharing beautiful photos that you may be proud of taking, or that transport you to a place and time that is memorable. I bet there are lots of great photos waiting to be shared with the FT crowd.

Here are a few from a recent trip:

Monkey Forest, Ubud, Bali - I swear this monkey was looking into my soul!

City of Male, Maldives - I was struck by the splashes of color among the concrete buildings

Market Vendor, Ubud, Bali - This scene is replicated around the world at markets everywhere

Bocce Ball at Solage Resort, Calistoga, Napa Valley - This photo of Yours Truly explodes with summer.

Great shots...

The one of Male looks almost like a painting with the colors that bright. Truly amazing. Just another reason to put it on the list of destinations to visit.

These aren't beauties, but I would love to be sitting or standing in these spots again...

On my way to the floating markets of Damonen Saduak, Thailand.

The Arenal Observatory Lodge, Costa Rica.
(BTW, that's a live volcano. Fun to sit there and listen to it crackle 'n' pop.)

Moeraki Beach, New Zealand. (Thanks to cpx!)

This one has nothing to do with travel, but it's fun - I took it to get some art up on my kitchen wall at home:

And this one, just because it's my daughter:

Depends what you want from your photography - there is an excellent forum - you have to apply to join - where your photos are shared and enjoyed, you can post just for pleasure and you can also get expert advice on your photographs. You can submit photos for their internal competitions (you don't win anything but you have the pleasure of knowing how much others are enjoying your photos).

Here is the site: http://www.passionforpixels.com/

I've greatly enjoyed your photos!!

^ Nice shot, ALCO! Great coloration.

Since you probably can't see it right now due to the fires, here's Half Dome:

Thanks, bdjohns1! I'm digging that B&W photo as well. I hope to get out to Yosemite during my Labor Day trip to SFO.
