I just noticed this subforum from the rest. It's actually pretty neat.

From the pier at Oceanside, CA. Canon 40D, 85/1.8. <--- I love this lens for portrait - whether it's human or other living things! Really sharp as long as I stop down a tiny bit, and beautiful bokeh. These are shot at f/2.2.

Perhaps 4 feet or so. Since it and its companions were sitting right on the Oceanside pier, I think they are pretty used to humans.
Those above image are cropped mildly. The 2nd one is now 2,149 x 3,221, down from 2,586x3,892. So, the current resolution is about 7MP rather than 10MP.

Okay... I think I'm confident enough now to post some of my favourite images I've taken... I'll post some from my trip to London in May.... Shot with Canon Digital Rebel XT, 18-55mm and 70-300mm, processed in Adobe Lightroom for effect.

After a request from our communications dept. for some "wintery" images for a winter publications, I realized I had none. Now I know why - tripods and 10 degrees don't go well together.
