Makes it more of a pain when you have to alter a URL before emailing a link to someone, or convert it using tinyurl or similar, in order to avoid risking a line break.

when using both safari and firefox today, after i make a post, the page with my new post shows the first post at the top of that page as opposed to the bottom of the page where my new post is. had to scroll down to make sure my post took.

I did not see any aliases for "/forums" anywhere. But I went ahead and created one. It should redirect now.

When you post it is not jumping down properly, like it used to you have to then page down to your post. At least that is what I've experienced most of the time.

what Steph3n said. the post appears correctly at the end of the thread but prior to the "weirdness", once you posted, the posted the screen would refresh and automatically scroll to the last post in the thread (yours unless someone else also posted). now, after you post, the page redraws but you are looking at the first post at the top of the page and have to scroll down to see if the post actually took.

I believe it used to be "/forum." That's why you didn't see "/forums" anywhere.

"www.flyertalk.com/forum" had always worked before the latest "URL enhancement" (except when the site is down, of course ).

After you post you get forwarded to the URL like this:
Code:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/continental-onepass/900953-missing-segment.html
It should have an anchor to your post and be like this:
Code:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/continental-onepass/900953-missing-segment.html#3
With the # to reference the thread post number anchor jump.

This is a test post to see if I go to the end of the page.
