New Search Problem: Deleted Threads/Posts Turn up in Search Result
Just tried to use key words (2 words) to search for a thread in SPAM. The first 10 results were all threads with zero reply. It didn't seem right. I clicked one of them then realized they were all previously deleted threads by mods.
So for now, not only do the deleted posts are viewable in search (which BTW is a known bug for a LONG time), but the deleted posts/threads are searchable via IB Beta Search as well?

Should we expect more of these "unexpected" bugs in IB Beta Search?
FWIW, I used the "Search this Forum", located at the top right corner of the forum frontpage.

Kiwi, when I perform a search on the term "recent posts" your previous post is included in the results, albeit not in the correct chronological order (another issue).
Is it possible the incorrect order made it appear that a recent post was missing in your search result?
Thanks.

Search Not Indexing Today's Posts (1/8/09)
I only tried 3 newbie FTers' handles so far. None of today's posts (at least from this afternoon) are showing up when I request searches.
I don't know if Kiwi Flyer used key word search when reporting the problem. But when I report the index problems, I generally don't use key words search. I use FT handles (i.d. click on "Find More Posts by XXX" under one's FT handle). I am getting nil result from some newbie FTers that started posting today.
I didn't type in any search term. The only explanation I can come up with this: Search Is Not Indexing Today. Again.
How often do you guys have to manually restart the search indexing? The search index has been falling off the wagon very often recently. Another hardware failure on search indexes as well?

Search still not current. The last I can see from "My Posts" is dated 1/6/09.
And the key-word-search-with-ghost/deleted-threads problem that I reported on 12/29/08 hasn't been fixed either.

It's been 5 days and I still can't see "My Posts" from Jan 7th and beyond. When was the IB Beta Search last indexed?
I am sure this out-of-sync IB Beta Search has been giving all our mods a tough time to do their jobs since the turn of this year.

Sometimes searching "My Posts" returns the universe up to 5 Jan 09, sometimes it returns nothing at all (like right now), but it's aggravating as that's the trick I use to monitor threads I'm participating in.

Search Index Not Current AGAIN!
It seems the search index is at least 1.5 days behind. The latest shown in "My Posts" is from noon on 1/14/09.
Why does it happen so frequently??
