I'd like to see badges for how often a FlyerTalker gives travel-related advice to another FlyerTalker with nothing other than a helpful spirit in mind.

Clearly what is needed is a Generation badge!
Do runs for lifetime flight mile thresholds count?

I just noticed that my “tenure” badge automagically changed from 10 years to 15 years this morning

Entirely up to you. If you want them to count, count them. I am sure people end up visiting countries without flying in/out whether it's by land, sea or air, and they count that as a country they have visited. For example I have included Macau in my total which was a ferry trip from Hong Kong, and Brunei which was a land border crossing from Sarawak, Malaysia.

What parameters do people use for determining number of countries visited?
Bottom line is that there's a lot of room for personal choice, both in terms of what counts as a country and what counts as a visit. Personally, I'd count cruise ship stops where I went ashore, though I haven't had any in countries where I didn't also stay on land overnight at some point.

Huh? What is the point of that? I get # of countries, etc but that sounds like it will just add to the clutter.
