I'd like to see badges for how often a FlyerTalker gives travel-related advice to another FlyerTalker with nothing other than a helpful spirit in mind.

Clearly what is needed is a Generation badge!

Do runs for lifetime flight mile thresholds count?

Something must have spooked you to consider signing up at Halloween 🎃 in 2009 then.

A lot of the countries we have visited have been from a ship. No airport. Do these count?

Entirely up to you. If you want them to count, count them. I am sure people end up visiting countries without flying in/out whether it's by land, sea or air, and they count that as a country they have visited. For example I have included Macau in my total which was a ferry trip from Hong Kong, and Brunei which was a land border crossing from Sarawak, Malaysia.

E.g. Diego Garcia in the British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), or Port Louis, Mauritius, both highlights of my 1981 travel. 🌴 ⚓

There's a 72-post (as of when this is posted) thread on how to count countries in TravelBuzz here:

What parameters do people use for determining number of countries visited?

Bottom line is that there's a lot of room for personal choice, both in terms of what counts as a country and what counts as a visit. Personally, I'd count cruise ship stops where I went ashore, though I haven't had any in countries where I didn't also stay on land overnight at some point.

Possibly/probably for the former (it will require switching to a new likes system) and I'm not certain for the latter. I will definitely bring it up to see the feasibility

Huh? What is the point of that? I get # of countries, etc but that sounds like it will just add to the clutter.
